Marwadi University

When you first came to Marwadi University, what was your vision for it? Has it evolved over time?

"To make Marwadi University one of the best law institutes on both national and international levels"

I belong to the region of Saurashtra and it was my long-term dream to establish a good Law School with global standards in this region. Hence when I received the offer to join Marwadi University, I did not give a second thought to accepting it. And my vision for the Faculty of Law, at Marwadi University, is to establish a Law School that can provide world-class legal education with affordable fees to students and professionals. When I talk about world-class legal education that means legal education that can help a law professional who is competent enough to handle complex legal issues and also be able to provide correct advice to their clients backed by proper research and legal know-how.

What is your philosophy of leadership?

"A leader should give full freedom and transparent ambiance to its team to grow"

I believe that leadership is always a double-edged dagger because a leader knows how to maintain a balance between authority and freedom and how to exercise both meticulously. If we are working in a team, then we should understand that each person is different and has a different style of working and we should respect their approach. Another important aspect that all leaders need to develop is to trust their colleagues because it helps to create a strong bond between everyone.

If I talk about my approach, I have given my colleagues freedom in their working and teaching methodology. I make sure that they get a transparent environment to express and develop themselves and whenever it feels required, I guide them.

What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector?

"The satisfaction and happiness that I receive being a mentor of youths and students"

There are several factors that keep me connected with the education sector. The first reason is the satisfaction that I receive while nurturing our future generations by educating youths. The most amazing feeling for me in fact is to see my students grow in their professional as well as personal life. And I enjoy being a part of my students' whole transformation journey when they enter university as teenagers and leave it as professionals. The second reason is that being in academics gives me tremendous opportunities to meet with students and academicians from various parts of India and abroad. And through this interaction, I get to know their cultures, mindsets and religions. Lastly, working in this sector, helps me to grow every day with new knowledge, views and fresh thinking, in fact, it keeps me young and energetic in the company of young students.

How is the life of the Students at Marwadi University?

"It is amazing because we have all kinds of facilities for our students"

I believe you should ask this question to our students, but since you have asked it from me, let me tell you I regret that I was born early and when I did my law, Marwadi University was not there. We have all facilities with a combination of the best faculty members, infrastructure, and extracurricular activities that a student needs for a successful career. We also have excellent hostel facilities that include a canteen, gym, sports facilities and an amphitheater. One interesting thing I would like to highlight here is that here students get amazing opportunities to meet with students of various countries, live with them, and learn their culture and traditions and it ultimately makes them a global citizens.

How is your University more welcoming to students of different races or economic backgrounds?

"We ensure that no one misses to get educated due to his/her economic background"

Any suggestions which you would like to give to the current youth and aspiring students?

"Choose your own career path and don't follow others blindly"

I would like to suggest youths and students to choose their profession and career as per their interests and passion, do not blindly follow the herd. Analyze your strengths and weaknesses carefully before deciding on a career without any family and peer pressure. Do what you are best at instead of doing what you are doing.
