Aeronautics is all about ‘How humans take flight’ and a degree in Aeronautical Engineering gives flight to dreams. The aerospace industry has taken a great leap in the last few years and is set to achieve a lot more with its expansion. Aeronautics as a career option opens up many opportunities for an aspirant, not just in the aerospace industry but in educational institutions, planning and many more. Manav Rachna International Institute of Research and Studies (MRIIRS, Formerly MRIU) offers B.Tech in Aeronautical Engineering under the thrust areas- Experimental aerodynamics, CFD and UAV. The faculty has been derived from reputed institutions and organizations with rich experience in aircraft maintenance, rocket systems, and aircraft design. The department is equipped with state-of-the-art labs with a 3-component balance, a water-table, a hot wire anemometry system, propeller test set up and other equipment. It is interesting to note that the department has aircraft assemblies, components and aircraft instruments of a frontline fighter aircraft, and models of various aircraft and a jet engine.

A conducive environment is maintained at the campus to help students explore, learn and flourish. Students get the opportunity to work on software like ANSYS, GAMBIT/FLUENT, MATLAB, CATIA and CREO. The curriculum is based on the Choice Based Credit System with the Foundation, Core, and baskets of Electives (Generic, Discipline, and Open) courses. 40 Hours Business Process Course of SAP has also been included as a part of the curriculum. It runs an entrepreneurship cell – UDYAM (E- Cell) to encourage students to pursue the path of entrepreneurship.

Industry-ready students are produced by the department at Manav Rachna by providing regular industry exposure and hands-on experience to the students. Soft skill training is also imparted to the students wherein they are prepared for the professional world. Students of Manav Rachna have been offered plum jobs by aeronautical organizations like DRDO labs, Mechartes, Zeus Numerix, and TCS.
