The Institute of Public Enterprise (IPE) was established in 1964 as an autonomous non-profit society. IPE is a premier AICTE-approved management Institute focusing on transforming students into leaders of tomorrow in organizations and society. IPE’s key objectives include management education, research, consultancy, and training. In 1995, the Institute launched its first two-year full-time Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) program to provide skilled human resources to meet the requirements of the industry.
Student Life in detail
Institute of Public Enterprise, being one of the leading B-Schools, offers its students a very homely and holistic atmosphere. It accommodates students from different states, cultures, and habitats and nourishes them into a family. Diversity at its best can be seen at IPE on a small scale. The nature and weather at IPE bring the student a heavenly and healthy feeling.
The student family in IPE will be bonded forever and this is the only reason why the Alumni of IPE is too good and responsible towards their institute. All the students will make their new extended family in their two years of time spent at the campus and the memories will be cherished by them throughout their life. Experience will help somewhere in everyone’s life and the experience in IPE will make whole new learning in everyone’s life. The essence of IPE’s education is not only about delivering subject content alone but also to impart values and morals and thus turning an IPE student into a global professional. The mock test of being a professional is conducted at IPE in the form of organizing various Activities of Clubs and participating in such activities, Celebrating Countless events where there is no pass or fail but learning is what makes a difference.
Various Student clubs:
- Quiz club- IPE Quiz League and has conducted various intra-college level quiz competitions while representing the institute at other national quiz competitions. The club members regularly meet and prepare themselves for quizzes.
- Operations club- Shastra has been focusing on activities and competitions, enhancing knowledge and testing the waters of analytical thinking, logical reasoning, and innovative solutions in the field of operations management. In the spirit of its name, Shastra has been a platform to sharpen the skill set of participants with regard to their operational and strategic competence. Its activities include conducting talks on contemporary issues of operations management, creating awareness sessions on the latest technologies connected with the subject area, and conducting subject quizzes to name a few.
- Finance club- To create a learning environment and enhance the skill sets to develop high-end qualities in students as finance professionals. The main focus of the club is on providing professional and social networks for students pursuing careers in finance. The club emphasizes driving initiatives in the arena of finance and intends to further the cause of finance. They plan for Finance Samithi at IPE, NIVESH event in Sanskrit, and many more Guest Lectures..
- Marketing club- To represent and support an inclusive and vibrant student community in which members have the opportunity to expand their horizons with new marketing trends, reach their full potential with conceptual knowledge, and change the world around them with the help of marketing themselves in the hypercompetitive environment. This club brings students together through events, sponsorships, publicity, and awareness of IPE-hosted events providing opportunities for development and social interaction that are central to many students’ college experience. This club was efficient in bringing in stalls for Fresher’s day. The club in the past conducted events like Ad-Venture – Creating an Advertising Campaign, inQuizitive– A quiz on Marketing, Market Encounter– A puzzle-based game the best managers would compete with each other. Cracking Cliché–Designing a Marketing Plan given a company and unusual product, What’s in a name? – Karachi Bakery Controversy Suggesting a New name and Marketing Campaign.
- Literature club- To inspire every individual to develop a taste for literature, and a fondness for language, enhance their literary skills and provide an avenue for self-expression. The literature club is committed to tapping the effective communication talent among the individuals, building up their confidence, and grooming their talents in facing various interpersonal activities and competitions. It also provides daily news updates with newsfeeds.
- HR club- To enhance students and train them to comprehend practical aspects of HR practices in various industries. This club engages students with activities like role play, case study analysis, quiz competitions, and many more activities which help students in understanding HR practices around the globe. The club activities include conducting HR Quizzes, Role plays, and Business Games.
- Photography club- To cover all the events and activities that happen at IPE and to freeze the moments in time and capture them through the art of photography and to allow revisiting them by sharing them on social media. This club has active members who are very efficient and are always available to click pictures of all the events that happen at IPE. They are always on their toes and cover all angles of the activities and all moments of Student life at campus. While this is their major forte, they plan to bring out creative videos too. They also promote still photography, Shadow Photography, Photography exhibitions,s, etc.
- Social club- To make our surroundings a better place to live in and give as much as we can to others such that there is adequacy in basic necessities for each individual. This club has organized some outstanding events that have enabled a lot of students to donate eyes, and blood and have had a successful week of Daanutsav, where they raised funds and collected pulses, rice, biscuits, blankets, and more for the needy. The club is responsible for conducting of Anti Ragging and Anti- Narcotics Campaign.
- Cultural club- To spread awareness, understanding, and appreciation of a particular culture, its people, diversity, and values and also to prepare students for real life by strengthening their personal skills.The club activities include conducting national festivals, organizing religious festivals, steering the institute carnivals, Conducting Freshers and Farewells, Musical nights, etc.
- Sports club- The Sports club is committed to cultivating and delivering a high-quality sports environment to provide equal opportunities.
- Speak out club-To develop their communication and presentation skills. The club plays an important role in developing the communication and presentation skills of students which play a crucial role in any job interview as well as their professional career. The club provides a mutually supportive and positive learning environment in which every individual member has the opportunity to develop oral communication and leadership skills, which in turn foster self-confidence and personal growth and find the courage to change.
Events at IPE:
The events and celebrations are in the DNA of the institute. The Institute celebrates all the national festivals, regional carnivals, and cultural fiestas. It has a rich culture of responding immediately to social needs. Its activities and events are cornered around topics of topical relevance. National festivals like Independence Day and Republic Day are celebrated with pride and intense patriotism. Festivals like Ganesh Chaturthi, Onam, Christmas, etc were celebrated with reverence. Garba Night, and Bathukamma were organized and celebrated with a regional touch. Freshers, Farewell and Musical Nights are celebrated with effervescing enthusiasm. Sports day is celebrated with a competitive spirit. Blood Donation camp, Box of Kindness, Daan Utsav, Sense the Darkness campaign, Anti Ragging Campaign, Service to Orphans, Haritha Haram, Organ Donation Camp, Me to Run, Candle March for Martyr of Pulwama attack, etc conducted in the past with social tilt.
- Independence Day: Independence Day of India, A National Festival celebrated every year on the 15th of August this year is no exception. On this day in 1947, India got freedom from British Rule. The celebration is done to develop a feeling of togetherness, and unity and to understand the importance of freedom and responsibility. Speeches in different languages bringing the freedom struggle, the growth and development path of India, diverse cultures of the country singing patriotic songs, etc were part of the celebrations on 15th August 2019. The celebrations earmarked the unity in diversity philosophy of the institute and so are of our incredible India.
- Onam: Just as sweetness cannot be separated from honey, just as beauty cannot be separated from a rainbow, Onam cannot be separated from a Keralite’s heart. All the students from the state of Kerala filled the environment with traditional attire in a way the festival vibes flowered into IPE. As a part of the celebrations, a beautiful rangoli was made by the students with the help of different flowers on 1st September 2019. King Mahabali was welcomed on the occasion. Thiruvathira's performance by the students initiated the Onam Celebrations. Various games like Vadamvali, Lemon and spoon race, Sack race, and Cracking of pots were conducted on this occasion
- Garba Night: This event was celebrated every year during the Nine days of Dussehra. As a part of celebrations, the students do Garba dance, the dance which symbolizes that God, represented in feminine form is the only thing that remains unchanging in a constantly changing universe. Garba songs typically revolve around the subjects of the nine goddesses. This celebration took place in the open place on the campus near the six pillars on 11th October 2021. Both Boys and Girls joined for Garba dance and Dandiya. Both men and women were in colorful costumes while performing Garba and dandiya. Garba costumes and Dandiya sticks were available on campus at a price for the student community. DJ was arranged during Garba night.
Blood Donation camp:
“Donate blood and save a life”, is the best saying ever. The saying has gained importance in recent days and even people from villages started believing that donating blood is a good practice. This change was mainly observed in today’s young generation because they accept that donating unit blood will save a human life. As a part of a social club, with the responsibility to take society closer to humanity, a Blood Donation camp was organized on 10th December 2019, and donated the collected units were for Thalassemia-affected children. The Institute collected nearly 100 units of blood and the same was transferred to the destination in time. The event was a big hit not due to the registrations and participants but because of the number of Lives saved.
Haritha Haram: “Reversing deforestation is complicated, planting trees is simple”. To increase the green cover in the state flagship program by the Telangana Government Haritha haram was initiated. The social club of IPE took up the initiative of organizing this event on 6th March 2022. The event was commenced by Director & Dean, Dr. Srinivas Murthy, by planting a sapling, followed by Student affairs Coordinator Dr. K.V.Anantha Kumar, and other faculty members. The Social Club took the oath of planting trees for a better tomorrow.
Sports Day: Separated they live in Bookmarksgrove right at the coast of the Semantics, a large language ocean. A small river named Dudenmouth.
Seeing the above-mentioned features of the Institute of Public Enterprise (IPE), one can easily say that the life of students at the institute is awesome.
