Dr. Anil Kumar Sinha has been working as the Director of Fortune Institute of International Business, New Delhi. He has done B. Com (Hons.), M. Com in Finance and Accounting and PhD in Financial Management as part of his education. He is an established academician with more than 4 decades of experience and he is an avid researcher, educator and an able academic administrator. And since 2003, he has been working as Dean and Director with leading management institutes in NCR. His research interest areas are Banking, Accounting and Financial Services. He has to his credit more than 20 research publications in journals of National and International repute and 2 books on working capital management. He has guided over a dozen PhD scholars and was awarded PhD in 1985 by the Magadh University of Bodh Gaya, Bihar in the area of Finance on the subject of Working Capital Management. And after finishing his PhD, he has successfully guided several M. Phil and PhD scholars, has written 2 books and various research papers and articles in professional journals. His areas of research interests include Family Business Marketing. During his professional journey, he has played various roles in capacities like Guest Faculty, Scholar, Guest Editor, Guest Speaker, Session Chair and many more across different platforms in India and abroad. He is on the reviewer board of many renowned journals. Before joining FIIB, he worked at Magadh University from 1979 to 2008, in various teaching capacities as Lecturer, Peader and Professor and also with IILM-CMS, Greater Noida. His research interests include Financial Management, Banking Finance, Financial Services and Labour relations while his Teaching interests include subjects like Financial Accounting, Management Accounting, Cost Accounting, Financial Management, Working Capital Management, Project Management and Project and Infrastructure Finance.

Being the Director of FIIB, what is your philosophy of leadership?

"A true leader is the one who know how to achieve set goals with available resources and people"

I believe visionary leadership is the truest form of leadership as it helps a person to motivate his team through goal setting, engagement and overcoming challenges. And if I talk about my own way of dealing with people, I am a person who is working 24X7 to guide and constantly inspire my team to improve their performance by making best use of resources and facilities we provide to them. In addition to this, I make sure the working environment remains transparent, trustworthy and honest for everyone. Also, One should not forget about his ethics and moral values while dealing with people of different mindset and skills and to be an ethically strong leader, one should have a set of behavioral principles and values that are widely accepted in order to create a culture of trust and respect.


How does the curriculum of your college ensure the best practices and standards of industry?

The curriculum of our college is developed after rigorous analysis and research about the latest trends, development and requirements of the industrial and educational world and we also take into consideration academic needs of our students as they are the recipients. built in such a way that everyone should be given skilled training. In addition to this, industry people and academic experts are involved too during Board of Studies meetings to design the curriculum after taking their suggestions and input.

What are your roles and responsibilities towards the institute and students?

"I am responsible for the development of our institute and students and supervising all activities of institute"

Being the Director of the institute, my prime responsibility is to ensure best quality education for my students and all the industrial and academic guidelines are being followed by us. In addition to this, making sure that events and activities like guest lectures in collaboration with corporate experts, seminars, workshops and conferences are arranged from time to time in college and curriculum is developed in association with industry people and Academicians in such a way that it contain best courses and training programs as per the needs of industries also comes under the scope of my responsibilities. And I need to make sure we achieve our objective of 100% placement every year. Last but not the least, mentoring and helping students whenever they get stuck somewhere, monitoring their academic progress, providing meaningful and progressively challenging learning experiences to students that include, but are not limited to self-exploration, questioning, making choices, setting goals, planning, organizing, implementing, self-evaluating, and demonstrating initiative in tasks and projects is also part of my day to day job.


What do you think should be the top priority of your college over the next 10 years?

"We should focus on enhancing the college infrastructure and collaborating with international industries"

I firmly believe that we should focus on becoming a top-notch institute in imparting skill oriented quality education to students by using world-class technologies for their personality and career growth. And in the upcoming next 10 years, our priority is to make our institute no. 1 in ensuring 100% placement opportunities for our young minds. Apart from this, we should focus on upgrading our college infrastructure, make our classrooms digital and collaborate with national and international institutions and companies for the benefit of both our students and college itself.

How do you establish healthy relations with the students and faculty members of your institute?

I firmly believe that in order for the organization to be productive, setting realistic goals, recognizing the strengths and weaknesses of the organization and its people, and always working for continuous improvement, along with a positive attitude and effective management practices are keys. And a healthy organization can only be created if it provides proper decentralization, motivation, and growth opportunities to its employees, therefore to maintain a healthy work environment and relationship with my students and fellow Faculties, I interact with them on a regular basis both on a personal and professional level so that I can explore their interests, issues, share responsibility and develop trust.
