Mr. Shashank Agarwal is Executive Director at KP Group of Institutions. He completed his MBA from the University of Greenwich in 2012-13 in International Business. He promoted education for the underprivileged by introducing professional courses at a low fee in Agra. When you started this Institution, what was your vision for it?

“Providing students with the quality education to meet the industry standards”

KP Group of Industries is one of the oldest colleges in Agra. We were the 3rd engineering college opened in Agra established in 2008. The vision was to provide quality education within budget to underprivileged students. We wanted to give modern education to the students that come from a weak economical background. We wanted to ensure that education reaches everyone irrespective of their ability to pay the whole fee at once. As our College was one of the initial engineering colleges in Agra and despite the fact that there are so many Engineering Colleges right now. We have to provide quality education and meet industry standards.

What makes your college stand out from other colleges in Agra?

“Providing students with all types of facilities and continuously improving the college”

The college is well known in the city and nearby areas. Even today it is one of the top engineering colleges in Agra. We are located near the Expressway that provides easy conveyance for students from all the nearby cities. We have continued to provide students with all the necessities along with competitive education to help them compete in the industry after they graduate from this college. 

What makes us different is that despite being one of the oldest colleges in the City we are not lacking in any kind of facilities provided to our students and we keep on improving ourselves. Along with the technical knowledge we do not restrict ourselves just to the books, we also provide our students with value-based education so that they become responsible citizens of the nation.

How do you prepare students in your college to face real-world Competition?

“Provide Students with Skill Enhancement Programs”

Along with academics, we conduct many activities in our college for the personality and overall development of our students. It is necessary for a student to be able to sustain in the industry after graduating from any Engineering College. We conduct a speaker session, company visits, health lectures, industrial training and familiarize our students with the latest practices of course.

How do you maintain a healthy environment in your college?

“Encourage students to participate in interactive doubt clearing sessions”

creating a healthy environment is not dependent on a single individual. It is a collaborative effort from the students and the management. Luckily our management is very Cooperative with the students and the students in turn come out to be corporate and respect the management's efforts for the betterment of the college.

What are the strengths of KPGI?

“Discipline is the strength of KPGI”

Discipline is one of the most important principles in our college. and it is not just for the students but for the faculty also. faculty is very much responsible for the student and their upbringing in the college period. We have strict guidelines for the faculty. Also, we can ensure that students follow all the rules & guidelines too. As much as we try to provide students with the best of the facility, it is expected from them to respect what they are given.

What are the challenges you see KPGI is facing?

“Lack of Awareness among students is the biggest challenge faced by me”

The challenge that we see is that because there are so many colleges and especially engineering colleges opening everywhere, students do not get a clear vision of which colleges are good for them. and with increasing competition to be a part of an association that is good for your future. but because so many colleges are available nearby, students tend to compromise the quality of the institution that they take admission in.

The government guidelines allow students with 40% marks to opt for Engineering. It is not possible for the longer term. Because of this now there are many students who can't make it to the successive years of Engineering.

What would you like the students to know about KPGI?

“KPGI offers the teaching methodology in which students learn by doing”

We at KPGl offer the teaching methodology in which the students learn by working on live projects and life skills. The current scenario demands the professionals to be a jack of all trades as well as the master of all. We see that colleges have been opened in each and every area of the city, but we keep improving ourselves to the best of the industrial practices and teach the most updated syllabus for all the courses that will be provided. Our faculty has been part of this association for a long time that makes them a part of our college and we appreciate our faculty for that. And the college that is constantly trying to improve for the students is a good place to expect personal growth.

Would you like to give a message to the youth of India?

“Believe in yourself and take your studies seriously”

The message that I want to give is that students should take studies very seriously and aim to do something for the glory of their country. If this mindset is developed among the students, the time is not far when our country will be one of the most developed countries of the world with the best quality of emerging students. I wish all the very best to all the aspirants who are looking for a professional career and successful life ahead.
