What is your philosophy of leadership? How would you describe your leadership style?

“I would describe my leadership style as direct, and leading by example”

I follow a democratic approach in my leadership. I believe everyone must participate in the process. I share responsibility with my team. I respect my team, listen to the ideas, and motivate them when needed. I bring in an empathetic approach with thoughtfulness and kindness. I enjoy delegating tasks and taking the lead on programs, but I also like to stay involved and motivate my team by showing that I'm working hands-on to help them, too.

How do you strategize about the key programs and plans for the marketing and administration of your school?

“We take many factors under consideration to make sure we are on the top”

We have a Centralized strategy and reporting, which is a common challenge when working in our marketing as budgets are spread between departments and decentralized.

Organising Awareness Programmes on Engineering Education: It’s not always easy to measure results on a granular level with traditional marketing. However, we have been organizing Awareness Programmes covering three districts in Andhra Pradesh in general and all Mandals in Srikakulam District in particular and Other states for over six months. We distribute our brochures and clarify all doubts in our one to one interaction session.

Another trail in the digital marketing strategy for our college is live streams: Facebook Live, Instagram, Video Chat for Snapchat, etc. Also, the other way of communication is through emails that we ensure we are clarifying all doubts.Featuring successful alumni is our way of showcasing alumni successes on different channels to support and stay in touch with alumni, and to attract new students.

Implementing new marketing strategy year after year: Marketing shouldn’t just be executing the same strategy year after year, but actively coordinating with the rest of the college administration to plan and execute a new marketing strategy that fits the college’s goals as a whole.

How does the curriculum of Aditya Institute of Technology And Management ensure the best practice of industry? 

“We ensure impartation of quality education and other practices”

AITAM has an independent Training & Placement Division, with the acronym TPD, committed to providing all possible assistance to its students, coordinating various activities, and providing necessary training to impart employability skills to its students. TPD strives with a prime objective of not only providing career opportunities in reputed corporates but also making the students feel comfortable to face several competitive examinations boldly and competently. 

Particular emphasis is placed on final-year students' soft skills to face GDs and interviews successfully. AITAM conducts mock online tests and group discussions for all eligible students based on the company requirements.

AITAM has a separate Industry Institute Interaction Cell (IIIC) that invites experts from industry for our curriculum design ( Experts from industry are also members in our Board Of Studies, Academic Council, and Governing Body) the subjects suggested by them in the Concerned Department. Guest lectures by Industrial experts, Internship, and final projects for final year students enhance the interaction with industry. Different corporate trainers' different modules ensure the practical exposure and comprehensive coverage of the whole syllabus.

Any insights into how your university could be more welcoming to students of different races or economic backgrounds?

“Diversity bring more learning opportunities”

We are a welcoming institute, and each year, we have students from different backgrounds. Generally, admissions are through the State level entrance Exam named as EAMCET. Admissions are as per Government of Andhra Pradesh reservation rules to OC,BC,SC,ST, and EBC. We also have students from other states and other countries i.e from Nepal.

What do you think your roles and responsibilities to the Aditya Institute of Technology And Management and the students are?

“I am a leader who has a vision for the institution”

As the institution's Director, my work aims to draft policies and implement the administrative, academics, financial, and many others under the same canopy. Under my supervision, I oversee content planning for students to attain practical knowledge and industrial exposure. Developing a student mentoring system where individual students are counseled often guides them on the career path. The smooth functioning of various verticals such as developing an efficient admission cycle and staff recruitment falls under my administration.

Additionally, working closely with the other Administrative departments, including Finance, to ensure all work is completed adequately is another factor that I look after. Conducting regular meetings (preferably at least once every month) of the mentors and mentees and directing them in the right direction,interacting with the Industry and corporate to conduct career-related workshops and seminars to better the faculty and students' career prospects.

When you first came to Aditya Institute of Technology And Management, what was your vision for the university? Has it evolved over time, and how far along in implementing that vision are you?

“Our plan is to attain a university status”

Aditya Institute of Technology And Management is one of the best Engineering colleges and young Autonomous colleges in Andhra Pradesh. It is also one of the best TEQIP-II project implementation institutions (Ranked by TEQIP Authorities) in the country. Our Vision is to propose for University status over the next ten years but based on the Norms and regulations of the Authorities on Higher Education at the time of proposal.
