BHU To Conduct 3 Month Part-Time Course in Fundamentals of Social Design From May 17: Apply Here


Banaras Hindu University has announced a three-month part-time certificate course as part of a project under the Ministry of Education. 

The Certificate Programme named, “Fundamentals of Social Design: Social Design in India and the United States” is part of the Ministry of Education's SPARC, or Scheme for Promotion of Academic and Research Collaboration project.

According to BHU, E-Certificates will be given in collaboration with Maryland Institute College of Arts, Michigan State University to candidates securing above 70% attendance.

The course was created with the goal of providing ‘creative change makers with the tools and methods to advance equity and social injustice, becoming pioneers and leaders in the practise.

Candidates for the programme include students, designers, professionals, academicians from various disciplines, and a knowledge base. While elaborating on the course, the institute stated that students registering for the programme will be introduced to social design in terms of society, technology, human behaviour shifts, contemporary India, and many other aspects.

According to the information provided in the official notification, the course will begin on May 17, 2021 and will last until August 18, 2021.

BHU Campus to remain closed

According to an earlier announcement, the BHU campus will be closed until May 15, 2021, and no online classes will be offered during that time. The decision to keep the campus closed was made in light of the state's COVID-19 situation. Offline teaching and learning have been suspended at BHU since April, and the exams have been announced to be held online using the open book method.
