New Delhi: Assam Governor Jagdish Mukhi, has launched the ‘Bodoland Super 50 Mission’, an initiative of BTR chief Pramod Boro to train and prepare the Bodo youths for competitive examinations like IIT-JEE.
According to an official statement, the project of the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) administration focuses on transforming the lives of engineering aspirants hailing from economically weaker sections of five Bodo dominated districts of Assam.
The newly-launched ‘Bodoland Super 50 Mission’ initiative is similar to some of the renowned examples of enhancing students' achievements such as Anand Kumar-Super30 in Bihar, Oil India Super 30, ONGC Super 30 and Telangana Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society (TSWREIS).
Addressing the occasion, Assam governor, Jagdish Mukhi expressed his contentment on the launch of the “much-needed” initiative, that will prepare aspirants for coveted exams like IIT JEE.
He said that the government has to be self-dependent, if they're to think about the development of Bodoland. BTR Chief Pramod Boro thanked the governor for visiting the BTR and launching the initiative.
The Bodoland Super 50 Mission also aims to offer 11 months of high-quality free residential coaching and mentorship programme to aspiring students from BTR who aspired for admissions into IITs, NITs and top engineering institutes across the country.
As per the official statement, a total of 50 candidates (10 from each district of Baksa, Chirang, Kokrajhar, Tamulpur and Udalguri) would be shortlisted through an entrance examination to take part in the programme every year.
