Adit Kamal Ajmera Review at University Of Groningen [RUG], Groningen | Collegedunia

University of Groningen: Important, accurate and non-biased information from a recent graduate

Compared to most universities around the world, the quality of life , work life balance, overall cost of tution and living, Netherlands was a no brainer. It is now being realised that it is a much more attractive University destination than UK or US. Further, it was ranked highly for international business

Course Curriculum :

Research based, unique methods of testing compared to indian. Requires fair amount of self study , research and proactiveness to succeed. They are application based methods usually and I enjoyed it because it suited me more than mugging and spitting like India. However, teachers do not go out of their way to explain, unlike Asian cultures which might be difficult to adapt to.

Exams :

My TOEFL was 111/120 but the requirement was much less. I think that was the only requirement and admission was relatively easy UK and US universities.

Placement :

Pretty good, all depends on how you build you portfolio during your time there, network and leverage the resources available. It's there, you have to know how to use it.

Internship :

I worked as a teaching assistant at University with a stipend of 500 Eur per month

Fees :

Around 7Lac INR annually

Faculty :

The faculty was in general approachable, efficient and impactful. It offered several opportunities in terms of personal and career development and even recreational and networking opportunities. Being one of the largest faculties in the university, teacher to student ratio might be on the lower side.

Campus Life :

Nothing short of amazing and this answer is fairly well thought out and comprehensive by me. Not much to add, whatever you want, is available. Fantastic infrastructure and all possible facilities.

Hostel :

Minimum of 12-15 lac INR annually. Including tution, you should be prepared for a bare minimum of 20 lac INR annually but anywhere between 20-30 lac INR should cover almost everything, including flights to and from Asia. If you cycle like most people, you save a lot on transport
