Master of Science [M.S] (Business Administration)
Field of Study:
- The master’s degree programs are characterized by a pronounced scientific orientation, the focus of the content on current research issues, and an adequate design of the types of study used. The students acquire extensive knowledge of relevant research methods and strategies, which enable them to apply the corresponding scientific methods to independently solve complex problems.
- The continuous further development of the course content and the organization of the course exchange as well as a grown connection to the economy make the master’s program a special course with a broad technical foundation.
- The aim of the master’s degree programs is to train scientifically trained graduates who are qualified to work successfully in the chosen specialization area. In addition to in-depth economic specialist and methodological competence and mastery of business administration tools, they should also acquire conceptual and analytical skills in order to be able to react creatively to changes in increasingly globalized markets.

Tuition Fees
There are no tuition fees at the University of Duisburg-Essen. All students are, however, subject to a student body and social contribution fee per semester.
The social and student body contribution for the summer and winter semesters 2021 amounts to a total of $774.86.
The amount is made up as follows:
- Mobility contribution (ticket): $506.82, of which $367.88 for the VRR semester ticket and $138.94 for the NRW ticket
- Social contribution for the Studierendenwerk: $229.96
- Student body fee: $38.08.
The social and student body contribution is not to be paid before enrollment! Students will be informed about the payment modalities upon registration.
Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Eligibility:
- a university degree with a professional qualification corresponding to a bachelor’s degree with study achievements amounting to at least 180 credits according to the European Credits Transfer System (ECTS) in business administration or an equivalent degree and
- Proof of attaining at least 90 credits according to ECTS in the discipline of business administration in the previous course.
Indian Eligibility:
Indian students are eligible to apply if they meet the following requirements:
- Citizens of a country outside the EU with a foreign university entrance qualification must pass the "German language test for university entrance" (DSH 3 level) or the TestDaF (TDN 5) before starting their studies.
- Educational residents (people who have obtained their higher education entrance qualification in Germany or at a German school abroad) do not require any special proof of German language skills.
International students hailing from non-English speaking countries can prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test to get admission to this program.
