University of Stuttgart is amazing with its facilities

MM
6.5 /10

The University of Stuttgart is one of the best technical universities in Germany (a part of TU9). Stuttgart is one of the best in the automotive industry and for example because of upcoming developments in the field of urban transport and infrastructure; Stuttgart 2021, making it a hotspot for education and employment.

Course Curriculum :

The curriculum is a combination of all aspects of civil engineering (rail-road, water, waste) with a focus on management. The curriculum focuses on theoretical aspects with a lack of practical exposure.

Exams :

IELTS requirement Minimum of 6.5 in each module. My score is 8.5 in Listening, 7.5 in Reading, 6.5 in Writing, and 7.0 in Speaking; My Overall Score: is 7.5. A bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related is also required. GRE exam not required

Placement :

There are no onsite campus placement opportunities for the students and they have to search for jobs on online portals which is not tedious. Every company posts online advertisement with positions and requirements for a suitable vacancies.

Internship :

No, I haven't applied for an internship yet, but I intend to do so as soon as I'm comfortable with my Dutch-speaking skills. Here it is important to learn German for communication, especially if you belong to a civil/mechanical background. He/she should have good knowledge of the language in which he/she wants to study or work in Europe.

Events :

There are lots of opportunities for students if they want to meet and interact with new people. There are good sports facilities along with the campus and one can enroll (nominal fee) in a sports course as per their choice to use these sports halls. Good WiFi connectivity and a huge library are easily available on campus. We have a good transport connection to the campus with a railway station in the center of the campus and also a university bus stop which is 500-600 meters away from the student hostels.

Fees :

The tuition fee for international students in Stuttgart is 1500€ plus a 200€ additional semester contribution which includes a semester travel pass for students, which can be obtained daily after 6 pm.

Scholarship :

No scholarship. But one who has professional experience of 2 years can apply for a scholarship in DAAD.

Faculty :

The faculty are highly qualified professionals in their respective fields with PhD degrees. They motivate the students and encourage them for one-to-one interaction. Due to the ongoing Covid crisis there is no scope for class interaction which makes the syllabus boring and monotonous.

Hostel :

There is a good accommodation facility within the University of Stuttgart campus. There are many options for the students. One can opt for single room apartment on shared floor or single room apartment with attached bathroom which is a bit costlier. The cost of accommodation ranges from 280 € to 330 € depending on preferences. The waiting time for housing is approximately 6 months.
