DASA 2023 Admissions will start tentatively from April 2023. DASA (Direct Admission of Students Abroad) is a scheme commenced by the Ministry of Education (MoE), Govt. of India for several Undergraduate and Post Graduate courses. DASA 2023 will be conducted by the Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology, Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh.

This scheme is specially designed for providing admission to Persons of Indian Origin living in abroad (POIs), Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), Children of Indian Workers in the Gulf countries (CIWG), and Overseas Citizens of India (OCI). Students have to qualify DASA admission procedure to get admission to India’s top-rated Engineering, Architecture, Planning, and Management Institutions.

Courses such as B.Tech, B.Arch, B.Plan, B.Sc, etc are offered at the UG level, and M.Tech, M.Arch, MBA, etc at PG level. Some of the prominent Institutions such as NITs, IIITs, CFITs, DTU, SPA, and others are working under DASA. Candidates are required to apply online for DASA 2023.

DASA 2023: Registration Process

The registration process for DASA 2023 is given below:

  • Visit the official website of DASA at www.dasanit.org
  • Register using the required details.
  • After the account is successfully created, a confirmation email with the link to complete the registration then sent to the registered email id of the candidates.
  • Click the web link sent through email.
  • Enter Applicant id and password and click enter; registration is completed.
  • Now, Login in the official website and fill out the required details in the application form.
  • Upload the passport-size photograph and scanned signature in JPG format along with other required documents.
  • Submit the application form along with requisite registration fees and first-semester tuition fee through SWIFT/ E- Payment/ NEFT/ RTGS transfer and download the form for future reference.

Documents required:

  • Applicant’s passport (Nepal nationals who do not have a passport have to submit a copy of authenticated citizenship)
  • Proof of date of birth
  • Mark sheet of Class 10, 11, and 12th / grade card of all semesters of qualifying examination
  • Certificate of completion schooling/ degree / provisional certificate
  • Percentage / equivalent grade or CGPA provided by the principal exam authorities
  • Proof of 2 years of education in a foreign country (for NRI applicants)
  • For PG programmes, proof of residential eligibility (for NRI applicants)

DASA Eligibility

DASA 2023: Eligibility Criteria

Candidates are requested to go through the following criteria before applying for DASA 2023 exam and admission.

For UG programmes:

  • Age: Candidates born on or after October 01, 1998 are eligible. The date of birth mentioned in the Secondary Education Board/ Class 10/ equivalent or any government-issued certificate will be taken as authentic
  • Residential Requirement: NRI, PIOs, OCIs of any country (including India) who fulfills prescribed criteria are eligible
  • Academic Qualification: candidate must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination from a board recognized by the Association of Indian Universities (www.aiu.ac.in)
  • Candidate must have mathematics, Physics, and one of the subjects from Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science, or Bio-technology in 11th or 12th.
  • Candidates should have a valid JEE (Main) – 2023 rank.

For PG programmes:

  • Age: No age restrictions.
  • Residential Requirement: Candidate must be NRI, PIO, or OCI who have completed the UG programme in any country (including India)
  • Academic Qualification: Candidates must have passed 4/5 year UG course in Engineering/ technology or equivalent in relevant discipline for M.Tech. / M.Arch./ M.Plan./ M.Des./ MURP and an appropriate UG degree for MBA from a recognized Institute/ University.
  • Candidate must have secured a minimum 60% marks or 6.50 CGPA in the last qualifying examination.
  • For M.Tech./ M.Arch./ M.Plan./ M.Des.: Minimum 300 GRE Revised General Test Score ( Verbal + Quantitative) is required
  • For MBA: A minimum 480 GMAT test score is required
DASA Merit List

DASA 2023 Merit List

The exam conducting authorities prepares a merit list for admission which is released on the official website of DASA.

  • For PG courses, the merit list is created based on the scores of GMAT/ GRE.
  • For UG admission, a merit is created based on JEE-2023 Main scores of the applicant.
  • Candidates who have relevant scores of GRE/ GMAT/ SAT/ JEE Main scores by MNNIT Allahabad are considered valid for the merit list and seat allotment process.
DASA Counseling

DASA 2023: Counseling

The DASA 2023 counseling is done in the various rounds for both UG and PG courses.

  • DASA 2023 counseling for UG courses is done in 4 Rounds.
  • DASA 2023 counseling for PG courses is done in 2 Rounds.
  • Institutes and course are allotted to students as per the choice filled by candidate in application form.

First Round of Allotment

  • All eligible candidates are considered for the round 1. Candidates who are allotted seat in this round have to confirm their options before the due date.
  • Candidates who attend the first Round of the DASA 2023 Selection Procedure have three choices: Accept, Accept & upgrade, and Decline.
  • Press accept if you are satisfied with currently allotted seat and Institute and don’t want your higher preferences to be considered in round 2.
  • Once the candidate accepts the institute in round 1 on the online portal, the allotted Institution, provisional admission letter, and also the courses are going to be accepted.
  • Press Accept & Upgrade if you want to accept the allotted seat, but also want to be considered in the round 2.
  • In this case, Provisional letter is generated. If the candidate gets the higher preferred choices in round 2, the previously allotted seal will be automatically cancelled and vice versa.
  • Press Decline, if you don’t want to accept the allotted seat/Institute. Candidate should note that if you press decline then you’re not going to be eligible for the further rounds (Round 2, Round 3, and Spot Round) of the DASA 2023 counseling.
  • The vacant seats are made available for round 2.

Second round of allotment

  • Those candidates who haven’t been selected in round 1 or opted for Accept & Upgrade in are considered for the round 2.
  • Just like round 1, candidate can select three options: Accept, Accept & Upgrade, or Decline.
  • Accept if you want to go for allotted seat, Accept & Upgrade if you want to be considered for round 3, and decline if you don’t want to accept the seat.

Third round of seat allotment

  • Those candidates who haven’t been selected in the round 2 or opted for Accept & Upgrade are considered for the round 3 of the selection procedure.
  • Press accept if you are satisfied with currently allotted seat and Institute. After that a provisional letter is generated; download it, sign it, and submit it to the allotted Institute at the time of admission.
  • Press Decline, if you don’t want to accept the allotted seat/Institute. In this case, the cancellation letter is generated, and the vacant seat is considered in subsequent round.
  • Candidates who are not allotted seat in Round 3 can select Exit option or participate in special round option.
  • If the candidate opts for exit, he is no longer a part of counseling process including special round and the full tuition fee is refunded as per rules.

Provision admission letter is generated for all selected candidate. They are required to report at the Institute before the due date for the admission.

Internal Sliding

  • On the basis of Inter-Se-Merit, internal sliding is done for all the admitted candidates for vacancies in the particular Institute on completion of admission process.
  • No choice modification is required by candidates as the original choice of branches is considered.
  • The participating Institutes notify the vacancy status to DASA office of conducting Institute after the internal sliding.

Special Round

  • Seats those are vacant after internal sliding is displayed on the DASA website.
  • Registered candidates who are not allotted any seat in the past rounds are considered for special round.
  • Candidates are required to login for the further process. After logging candidate have two options: Participate in special round and Exit.
  • If the participant selects Participate in special round, then he needs to fill and lock fresh choices for the special round.
  • If the candidate select Exit then he/she is not considered for the further process of admission.

Visa Requirement

  • All selected foreign nationals must have a valid student visa as applicable to their category issued by the Indian Missions Abroad.
  • Produce the provisional letter and other required documents, and submit it at the Indian Missions located at respective country to get Visa.

Medical Examination

  • The applicants are advised to get medically fit to pursue the prescribed course as his/her application can get rejected if not medically fit.
  • All applicants are required to submit the medical certificate of general fitness from an authorized medical practitioner from anywhere.
  • Candidates have to go under a medical fitness test at the time of reporting at allotted Institute.

Reporting at the Institute

  • Candidates who are provisionally allotted a seat in the Institutes in the first three rounds have to report at the concerned Institute as per the schedule mentioned on DASA website.
  • Candidates are required to submit all the documents/ certificates at the time of reporting.
  • Not reporting on the time is considered as cancellation of the allotted seat.
