Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies offers full-time LLM degrees in 2 specializations that include Corporate Law and Alternative Dispute Redressal. The programs last for a duration of 1 year and consist of 2 semesters.

The minimum requirement to apply for an LLM degree is obtaining an LLB degree with 55% aggregate marks.

The admission is granted based on the marks obtained in the CLAT-PG examination.

VIPS LLM Eligibility Criteria

Students applying for admission at Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies for LLM course must fulfill the given below criteria:

LL.B Degree or equivalent degree from an institute recognized by the Bar Council of India with not less than 55% marks.
Candidates need to appear in the CLAT-PG exam that is conducted by National Law University on a rotational basis. The University shall not conduct its own CET for admissions but shall utilize the merit list prepared based on CLAT – PG scores for its admissions.

VIPS LLM Admission Guidelines

Admission to the LLM courses is done based on the marks obtained in the CLAT-PG examination. The applicant must have also passed an LLB degree with 55% aggregate marks. Candidates applying for LLM course at Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies must follow the given below steps:

VIPS LLM Course Details

The LLM program is offered in mainly two specializations: Alternative Dispute Redressal and Corporate Law.

The program has a duration of one year and is divided into two semesters. The odd semester begins in June and ends in November, whereas the Even semester ranges from December to April, each year.
The student needs to earn 55 credits to complete and obtain an LLM degree.
The student must complete 10 core subjects along with Research and Teaching Development Activities.
The student is evaluated based on internal and external admissions. The internal examinations weigh 15%, the external examinations weigh 60% and the Research and Development Teaching Activities weigh 15% of the total marks.

Ques. What are the documents required while taking admission at VIPS LLM?

Ans. Candidates applying for admission to the institute must submit the following documents: CLAT-PG application form, CLAT-PG scorecard, transcripts of class X and XII, transcripts of LLB degree demand draft for the program fees, categories certificates, transfer certificate, character certificate, and copies of educational certificates and identification cards.

Ques. What is the reservation criterion at VIPS?

Ans. 85% of the total seats are reserved for “Delhi Region Candidates”, and the rest 15% seats are reserved for students belonging to outside Delhi region. In each section 50% seats are allotted to students belonging to the general category, 28% seats are allotted for students belonging to the OBC category, 14% seats are reserved for students belonging to the SC category, and 9 % seats are reserved for students belonging to Scheduled tribes category.

Ans. The university offers financial assistance to children of Beedi Workers, Iron ore and chrome ore mine workers, cine-workers, LSDM-workers. The university offers a Central Scheme of Scholarship for students with disabilities. The institute also offers a merit cum means scholarship for students belonging to Minority Communities.

Ques. What is the examination pattern of CLAT-PG for VIPS LLM admission?

Ans. CLAT-PG has a single section that has 120 questions. Each question carries 1 mark for a correct answer and .25 for a negative answer. The questions are based on Constitutional Law, Jurisprudence, Administrative Law, Law of Contract, Torts, Family Law, Criminal Law, Property Law, Company Law, Public International Law, Tax Law, Environmental Law, and Labour & Industrial Law.
