Since we are new to the system of New Education Policy [NEP] we don't have the full curriculum from the start and they give us our curriculum semester-wise. Till now we have three core papers in each semester and sec, vac aec also. The faculty is also okay
I chose BSc (Hons.) Statistics course because from the start I wanted to kick start my career in the data analytics field and in my knowledge, this course is one of the best to get started. The link to the course curriculum can be found on the official website of the University of Delhi. The faculties are good, and the teaching method is good.
The faculty-student ratio is good in most courses and subjects. Most teachers are highly qualified and some teachers have their own ways of teaching. The exams do not require thorough preparation throughout the semester. They are easy to pass. Due to COVID-19 the semester exams were delayed in my batch.
If one wants to do research in data, and statistics then one has to come to this course and for this reason, I choose it. 1:22 is a faculty-student ratio. Teachers are well qualified majority of them have phds and the way of teaching is good enough. Here is the semester type of exams take place and the exams are quite difficult but by attending a regular class one can pass it.
My course is Statistics Honors which is the most challenging course at Delhi University. I chose this because I have a natural affinity towards maths also it was my dream course. Our batch has approximately 60 students. Our faculty is greatly studied by renowned IITs and colleges. They solve all our doubts and queries. Talking about the term exams they were a new experience for us different from what we had in our school but we passed them.
The course is very much of maths background and it requires good calculation and data knowledge. The course has basic Statistics like mean, median, and probability with advanced mathematics. I chose this course as I wanted to make a career in data science and data analytics. The faculty is great and has very qualified teachers with good knowledge of statistics. There are 7-8 professors in our department which is sufficient for learning. The professors are highly qualified with prior knowledge in Maths and statistics with Ph.D. and their teaching method is very approaching and interesting as they also interact and also give real-life examples for better understanding. The exams are held after a chapter or unit is done and a class test is done in every few weeks which is added to your result. Therefore, if you are good at maths and statistics you can go for this course.
The course curriculum and faculty members are very amenable I have chosen B.Sc(H) statistics as data is the future in the upcoming days and even AI will have no impact in this field. The faculty-student ratio is around 45 and the teaching method is good the term exam is generally within 5 months and it is very easy to pass the exam.
