Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course because of the good placement record, particularly through college. There are at least 600 students of CSE. Some faculty have done Ph.D. in their profession while some of them have only done master. In each semester MST 1, MST 2, and then the final exam is conducted. The final exam level is moderate. If you do some hard work then you can definitely get a good SGPA.

Ques. Which college is better for CSE, CGC, Landran or Lpu?

● Top Answer By Arshit Jain on 06 Mar 23

When it comes to pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), Lovely Professional University (LPU) stands out as the best private university compared to CGC and Landran. Here's why: Scholarship Opportunities: LPU offers its own test called LPUNEST, which serves as the basis of eligibility for most of the programs and scholarships. The amount of scholarship awarded depends on the program's fee, date of admission, and the student's performance in LPUNEST. Additionally, LPU offers fee concessions for Defence and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) and their dependents, as well as special scholarships for toppers of the Education Board and for students who have excelled in sports, cultural events, R&D, co-curricular activities, social service, and bravery awards. Placements: LPU's placement record is impressive, with the highest international and domestic packages offered during the 2022 placement season standing at INR 300 LPA and INR 64 LPA, respectively. In 2021 and 2022, a total of 431 students were offered salary packages ranging between INR 10 LPA and INR 62.72 LPA, and over 1,050 companies visited the campus, offering 8,400 placement and internship opportunities. Learning Life: LPU offers a holistic approach to learning, with a focus on training, internships, extra-curricular activities like sports and cultural events such as ONE INDIA, ONE WORLD, entrepreneurship, on-the-job training, project-based learning, and celebrity events featuring icons such as Ms. Dhoni, Deepika Padukone, and Shahrukh Khan. Overall, Lovely Professional University is the best private university for pursuing a degree in CSE. Its generous scholarship opportunities, impressive placement record, and comprehensive approach to learning make it an excellent choice for students who aspire to excel in the field of Computer Science and Engineering....Read more

Ques. Which is a better choice, CSE at CGC LANDRAN or CCET Chandigarh?

● Top Answer By Jai Singhal on 21 Apr 21

There are a plethora of parameters based on which one can decide which college is better than the other. But at the same time, your choices and your priorities also matter to decide which college you will opt for. You might not get all the fulfillments in the college checklist but you can set your priorities. Coming onto the question, if you are willing to decide among CGC Landran and CCET Chandigarh, you are comparing two very different colleges.  Let’s decide based on different criteria:  Placement: If you are one among the students to whom the ultimate goal is to get into a reputed company after Engineering, CGC Landran will be the right choice. You know why? Go through the placement records given below:  Placement Stats CGC Landran CCET Chandigarh Highest Package 35 Lakhs 12 Lakhs Average Package 7 Lakhs 4.07 Lakhs The placement stats of CGC Landran is way better than CCET Chandigarh.  If you want the stamp of Panjab University on your degree, then you can opt for CCET Chandigarh. Although, CCET will not provide you with any extra benefits/royalties like Panjab University. Instead of CCET, UIET is a better choice.  From the study point of view, there is not much difference between these two colleges. ...Read more

Ques. Why is CGC Landran not giving admissions in CSE to students with less than 75% in 12?

● Top Answer By Kamala Sharma on 20 Apr 21

This is basically the admission criteria for management quota which is relaxed after some time. They could even ask for donations later. You can secure admission to CGC Landran in the following two methods:  You can appear for the JEE after which most students apply for the PTU Counseling system. This method mainly ensures that you get admission to the college without donations. This is only if PTU allows a seat to you in the college of your choice.  One of my friends went for admission in CSE in CGC with 67.4% in 10+2 through PTU counseling. My sister was admitted to CSE via PTU too. His profile was 58% in 10+2 with a good JEE Score that was close to 50-60 marks. On the other hand, if you have not appeared for the JEE, you might have to wait for a little while longer. Usually, the college will provide you with admission to CSE themselves and you might not have to donate any money. You can try visiting the college for 2 to 4 weeks after classes have commenced for the first semester. They are generally on the lookout for admissions and at the start, claim that they have limited seats. They might push you in the direction of mechanical, electronics and IT but in my opinion, you should stick to the field of your choice. The ‘limited seats’ notion is mainly a business gimmick and out to fool people. You will definitely get the branch of your choice. You might have to persevere a little more for it, but it will be in your hands....Read more

Ques. How are CGC Landran CSE placements?

● Top Answer By Sikhsha Roy on 15 Jun 21

I have a few friends at CGC and I heard good things about the institute from them. It is well-known for offering good placements and a decent academic environment. CGC conducts prior pre-placement training, where you will be taught how to handle interviews for the recruiting companies. Companies that approach the institutes, come along with their own personal criteria. Many companies set the required score range of 60%, 70% or even 80%. Major recruiters at the placement drive are Amazon, Wipro, Microsoft, Cognizant, HCL, Deloitte, IBM, Maruti, Hyundai, etc. The highest CTC offered to the students according to the recent placement statistics is 35 LPA. If you are want to secure a placement offer, try to master at least one computer language program. The competition gets intense when the number of students is 250+. The institute conducts extra classes. These classes are about HR, group discussions, etc. Here, you will be given placement papers targeting certain companies by the teachers. At the weekend, you will be handed over modules and questions that concern that specific company....Read more

● Top Answer By Priscilla Sen on 20 Oct 20

NIRF 2020 has ranked LPU at 87, CGC Landran at 201-250 band and NIET Noida at 99 for Engineering. LPU and NIET Noida are affiliated to the University grant Commission and follow the latest course curriculum with practical study and implementation. CGC Landran is affiliated to the Punjab Technical University and its curriculum is slightly outdated which lacks practical study and implementation. Admission: CGC Landran offers admission through JEE Mains. The cut-off for CGC Landran CSE Branch was 6,87,300 rank for all India general category students and 10,90,000 for home state students. LPU conducts LPUNEST exam for B tech admissions or it also takes admission on the basis of JEE mains. CGC Landran has an annual fee of INR 96,000 whereas NIET and LPU charge about INR 1 lakh to 1.5 Lakh per annum. Campus location and infrastructure: Situated near the Country capital and in Noida, NIET has the best connectivity among the three colleges followed by LPU and then CGC Landran. Infrastructure wise LPU is better and consisting of excellent facilities and computer centres. CGC Landran and NIET Noida also have good infrastructure. Ques. Does CGC Landran use projectors and slides in a B.Tech in CSE to teach? Do they use smart classes and slides?

● Top Answer By Harpreet Saini on 06 Jul 21

My sister recently graduated from CGC Landran and has better information about the teaching techniques employed at the institute. Here is what she had to say. In the first year of college, the teachers do not use projectors a lot and they just give the students notes for the subjects. In the second year, the syllabus starts getting tougher and the length of the chapters in subjects also increases as the core subjects get included. It becomes a challenge to complete the syllabus in time. That is the reason why second year onwards teachers mostly give notes and teach from PPT Slides to cover up the syllabus. Hope this clears your doubt....Read more

Ques. Which college is better CGC Landran campus or Chandigarh university or Chitkara university Himachal campus foe mainly for CSE/IT branch of B. tech?

● Top Answer By Sushmita Poddar on 20 Oct 20

CGC Landran is a part of Chandigarh University whereas Chitkara University is a separate University. CGC Landran being part of Chandigarh University is a good college but it is recommended to study at the main campus as it will have better or equal facilities. But the choice also depends upon the cost of education and other important factors. All the institute takes admission through JEE Mains. Ranking: CGC Landran is ranked 52 for BTech by Chronicle 2019. Chandigarh University is ranked 84 for BTech by NIRF 2020. Chitkara University is ranked 151 among the top universities of India by NIRF 2020. Annual fee: CGC Landran has an annual CSE/IT B. tech fee of INR 96,000 and Chitkara University has INR 97,000 whereas Chandigarh University has an annual fee of INR 1.68 lakhs for these branches. Infrastructure: Chandigarh University has the best infrastructure and largest campus among the three. All three institutes are equally good academically. Chandigarh University having better infrastructure among three offers excellent teaching, practical and library facilities. Chandigarh University also has one of the best fests in whole north India. Placement: Each of the colleges was visited by top recruited companies all over the world during the 2018-19 session. Chitkara University saw 85% placement with 13.5 LPA max package and 4.5 LPA as the average package. Whereas CGC Landran and CU both had observed 100% placement for the branches. The maximum package in both the colleges was the same 35 LPA. CU has the highest average package among these three with 5 LPA whereas CGC Landran has the lowest average with 3.5 LPA. Chandigarh University has a better record in all the above parameters discussed. CGC Landran is a cost-effective college which offers best if compared to Chitkara University Himachal Campus. Between CU and CGC, CU is the main campus and it offers better facilities. But the final choice still will lie with prospective students as factors such as connectivity from home and cost of attendance should also be taken into consideration before joining....Read more
