St Xaviers Technical Institute, Mumbai was established in 1937 and is managed by The Society of Jesus (The Jesuits). It is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). It is an ISO 9001:2000 certified institute. This college is part of an International Network of Jesuit Educational Institutions which includes over 3700 Educational Institutions worldwide and more than 38 Universities. The college provides facilities for professional and specialized training in Electronics.

The College offers Diploma course in Electronics and Telecommunication which are recognized by the Government and equivalent to the Diplomas issued by the Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education (MSBTE). The aim of the Institute is to generate best quality engineers by providing best education along with practical and theoretical knowledge. In college 50% of intake is reserved for Minority (Roman Catholic) applicants and 50% of intake is through the Centralized Admission Process conducted by the D.T.E.
