Between the options, you should choose NIT Surathkal IT. Here are the reasons why. The syllabus difference between IT and CSE is not so much in this institute. The placement process in the institute is exceptional, specifically for the circuit branches, including IT, CSE, ECE, and EEE. However, in the last year, students are recruited by Google and Microsoft. NITK has its own brand name. Maybe it is an NIT, but the students here get a lot of exposure. JEE Mains toppers mainly take admission in this institute every year. You will have to stay here in the hostel, which provides a good experience for them. Ques. Which college should I prefer, RVCE (CS branch) or lower IIITs like Kota and Vadodara (CS branch)?
Since my sister studied at RVCE, I can give you information about it. Placement : RVCE provides a lot of placement opportunities. If you score decently, you can easily get a double-digit package job in the campus placement. Placement season starts from July till November, where all the good companies with good opportunities come for placement. However, you can expect placement opportunities in your last semester also. These companies offer the lowest packages of 3-4 LPA. Thus, RVCE CSE is definitely good in terms of placements. Academics : The faculties are not of top quality and hence, the academic quality. You will have to practice self-study if you really want to have good knowledge of the subjects. Exam Pattern : You will definitely score more than or equal to 90% if you solve 3-4 previous years semester endpapers. Not commenting anything on lower IIITs since I don’t have much knowledge about it. But, if given a chance to join any RVCE or any lower IIIT like Kota or Vadodara, I would always go for RVCE....Read more
Ques. Is RVCE CSE better than metallurgy at IIT Bhubaneswar?
It depends on which course you are interested in. Both subjects have their own concept, CSE is coding based and Metallurgy is based on chemistry. But among all the private engineering colleges RVCE is famous in Bangalore. Most of the students prefer RVSC college for CSE. If you want to compare these two educational institutes on the basis of their infrastructure, placement wide, laboratory management, and laboratory construction RVCE will be the advanced one as compares to IIT Bhubaneswar. RVCE offers an average salary package of 11-15 lakhs per annum to CSE students whereas IIT Bhubaneswar offers 11.44 lakhs per annum for metallurgy and material science students. RVCE library consists of 1720 books and the laboratory has 316 computer systems. Whereas IIT Bhubaneswar being a new IIT is still in the developing phase in terms of infrastructure. Also, CSE offers more job opportunities as compared to Metallurgy. Recruiters like Yahoo, Amazon, PayPal, Microsoft, etc. visit RVCE to find potential candidates for their company.
