Latest Updates: The second round of counselling for M.Tech admission for the session 2020-22 has started from October 5, 2020 and will continue until October 6, 2020. The counselling session is in accordance with the seats that are vacant after the first counselling. The admission fees need to be submitted within October 10, 2020.

Birsa Institute of Technology (BIT) Sindri offers M.Tech degree across five specializations- Mechanical engineering, Electrical engineering, Civil Engineering, Metallurgical engineering and Chemical Engineering. The Institute offers a total of 10 M.Tech courses which are divided into four semesters spanning two years.

The nature of the M.Tech course is full-time.The courses offered are namely Heat Power engineering, Machine design, Production technology, Power system, Control system, Physical metallurgy, Process metallurgy, Plant Design, Soil Mechanics and foundations engineering and Structural design.

The minimum requirement to apply for a M.Tech course at BIT Sindri is a BE/B.Tech degree with 60% aggregate in the relevant discipline. The application fee for the M.Tech program is INR 2500/-. 

An entrance test/interview is also conducted for the admission. Candidates having a valid GATE score are exempted from the test.

BIT Sindri M.Tech Eligibility Criteria

  • BE/ B.Tech degree in the relevant field from a recognized university with at least 60% aggregate.
  • Appearance at the written test/interview conducted by BIT Sindri for M.Tech admission.
  • Passing the cutoff for the GATE examination.
  • Candidates belonging to the minority communities are given 5% relaxation.

BIT Sindri M.Tech Admission Guidelines

Admission for the M.Tech programs are entrance based. BIT Sindri conducts a written test and interview. However, candidates with valid GATE scores need not sit for the test.

  • Fill in the application form with all the necessary details.
  • Pay the application fee of Rs. 2500.
  • Applicants shortlisted for the test must bring with them a signed copy of the submitted application form.
  • Based on the merit achieved in the examination candidates will be further called for an interview.
  • Candidates shortlisted for the interview must bring along the result sheet and the GATE scorecard, if available.
