Moti Lal Nehru Medical College was established by first President of India, Dr. Rajendra Prasad, in the year 1961. The college is affiliated to Chhatrapati Sahu Ji Maharaj University, Kanpur and recognized by Medical Council of India. Extra-Curricular:

• NCC- NCC of the college has 200 cadets. 70 cadets of M.B.B.S. students have recently participated in regular Army attachment camp at Military Hospital, Allahabad. They have undergone army training, firing and other activities during the camps. The cadets also conducted tree plantation during the camp. Sheodeo Rajak among the boys and Charubala Sharma among the girls were adjudged the best cadets in the camp
• NSS- Volunteers of NSS visit the slum areas regularly and take part in medical checkups and in health education activities in the community regarding various issues of importance for the health of the community and family.
