Important Dates
Application deadline for international students of winter and spring are closed.
- Ryerson University offers MSc in Data Science and Analytics with a duration of 1-year (3 terms). It is a thesis-based program, offered on a full-time (1-year) and part-time (2-years) basis.
- Data Science and Analytics program is consists of 4 core courses, 2 elective courses, 2 seminar courses, and a Major Research Project.
- Full-time students have to take 3 courses per term in Fall and Winter, with the Seminar course and MRP to be completed in the Spring/Summer term whereas part-time students can take no more than 2 courses per term.
- It enables students to develop interdisciplinary skills and gain a deep understanding of technical and applied knowledge in data science and analytics.
- Students can apply to participate in DMZ programming, having the opportunity to create their own startups or work with companies engaged in big data and data science.
- Placements/Job opportunities after MSc Data Science and Analytics are Data Scientist, Data Architect, Data Administrator, etc.
- The average salary goes up to 69,375 USD after completing this program.
Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Eligibility:

A four-year bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) from an accredited institution in engineering, science, business, economics or a related discipline.

Minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.00/4.33 (B or equivalent), in the last two years of study and demonstrated capacity to succeed in graduate studies
Others:
Students without related academic experience or work experience students are also encouraged to apply, given they have completed the following courses:
- Statistics
- Data Structures and Algorithms
- Databases and R Programming.
Indian Student Eligibility:
Indian students are eligible to apply if they meet one of the following eligibility criteria:
- Completed a 4-year UG degree with first class in a relevant field from a recognized institution
- Or, completed graduation in B.Sc.(H) Computer Science or B.Sc. Applied Physical Sciences with Mathematics and Computer Science.
- Or, completed B.Sc (General).
Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL any equivalent test.

- CV/Resume: Outline of academic achievements and/or awards, publications, relevant work and/or volunteer experience.
- Two academic or professional references: Referees (Teachers, guidance counselors, or Professors) should comment on academics and that references should submit along with the application system.
- Statement of Intent: Reasons or intentions for pursuing studies in this program, including a description of prior experience.
- Other bachelor's Degrees: Foundation courses will be required, exemptions are based on courses taken during an undergraduate degree.
- Two Letter of Recommendation: Reference letters are a key component of the application package depending on the program student are applying for research and/or professional abilities.
- Electronic Official transcripts: Submit copies of official transcripts from post-secondary institutions attended in PDF format.
- Statement of Interest: Students have to fill their interesting research work area in the application form.
- Interview: After the submission of your application, you will be contacted to complete an online video interview.
