Trent University GTA campus Review

S
7.8 /10

Reputation and affordability of the program compared to other MBA programs in the country. The faculty is great also the co-op component of the program helps students who want to get work experience before graduation.

Course Curriculum :

Great course curriculum which incorporated our feedback pretty quickly and caters to everyone targeting for different industries and career fields in the future like fashion, marketing, nursing, etc.

Exams :

I only took the IELTS exam as a program and a visa requirement. Scored 8/9 overall and no other was required.

Placement :

Most internship opportunities are unpaid which is sad. The ones that are paid are highly competitive with a lot of screening and shortlisting stages before a student receives an offer. This takes up a lot of time and delays decision making.

Internship :

Yes, the program has a co-op component that we have to complete but it is outside campus with different companies that we have to apply to and interview ourselves. The university helps with writing CVs.

Events :

Cultural, National and international holidays, Sports, Fundraisers, Art and wellness, Music, Bonfires, Meet and greet, Workshops, Training for different purposes, Open houses, Orientations, Alumni events

Fees :

Fee for the whole year divided equally over three semesters (Fall summer and winter semesters). Other charges include yearly bus passes/parking pass, university cash, recreational activities, insurance, etc for co-op and health.

Scholarship :

I didn't apply for any scholarships or aids so I had higher chances of acceptance from universities but it would help a lot if I had a scholarship or aid available to me.

Examination Structure :

It is flexible depending on the need of the course and the teacher. Some courses do have an exam others don't so it varies. Sometimes we get extra assignments or quizzes instead of the exam to get the marks allotted for the exam.

Faculty :

Awesome faculty and they have great knowledge and experiences to share with us. They listen and help out whenever we reach out to them. They are extremely qualified.

Hostel :

Our campus does not have an on-campus accommodation so students look for other rental options like room sharing or apartment sharing, house sharing options through online portals like Facebook and Kijiji for affordable leases.
