Shiv Nadar University B.Tech Admission 2024: Fees, Eligibility, Application

Shiv Nadar University, Greater Noida offers admission to the B.Tech course with 6 specializations in it. The total intake is 300. Admission will be based on scores secured in the qualifying examination along with eligibility and performance in Shiv Nadar University Scholastic Aptitude Test (SNUSAT) and Academic Proficiency Test (APT) or JEE Main scores.

Qualified students of the Higher Secondary Examination (12^th) can apply for the entrance test and admission. Appearing candidates will also be eligible for the entrance exam. Shiv Nadar University B.Tech Eligibility Criteria

Candidate passed 12^th board examination from a recognized board education.
Physics, Chemistry, Maths and English should be the main subjects in qualifying examination.
Eligibility criteria is set up by the University for Prior Shortlisting of candidates.
Eligibility criteria differ on the basis of board of education:

Shiv Nadar University B.Tech Selection Process

Admission to B.Tech will be based on three parameters:

Eligibility based on Class XII scores
Shiv Nadar University Scholastic Aptitude Test (SNUSAT) and Academic Proficiency Test (APT)
Review of Application Form for the candidate’s aspiration in life and the ability to be a stakeholder at Shiv Nadar University

Weightage of 3 aspects is as follows:

Shiv Nadar University Scholastic Aptitude Test (SNUSAT) and Academic Proficiency Test (APT)

Duration of the exam is 3 hours.
All questions will be MCQ based with no negative marking.
For SNUSAT, there will be 2 hours and for APT, 1 hour will be provided.
SNUSAT is divided into 4 sections with a specific time duration to attempt it:

The Academic Proficiency Test (APT) has different sections for a particular program.

Life at SNIoE

I chose the course as I had an interest in the subject. Moreover, with the ongoing technological push, it felt like a safe choice. The student-faculty ratio would be around 1:20 The faculty are mostly PHD doctors having done their degrees from prominent IITs. The exams strictly follow the academic calendar released at the start of the term and are doable provided you know the material.

Shiv Nadar University - All you need to know

The course curriculum is similar to what is in all other top colleges. SNU follows the common IIT-influenced curriculum. I chose Btech in ECE as I was not clear about in which direction I want my career path to go as I wanted to explore both the core side and the tech side. The faculty-student ratio is around 1:12. All of the faculty is very well qualified with their undergrads and postgrads from top IITs. The teaching method is similar to what it is in all other colleges some professors are really helpful while others are not. The exams are around every 2 months and the level is quite tough.

Navigating campus life: A review of my college - Shiv Nadar University

I always wanted to pursue a computer science degree. I had heard about SNU from many of my friends and did research on my own. The placements and multidisciplinary opportunities attracted me to SNU the most. Faculty to student ratio is 1:10 if I am not wrong. CSE faculty is good and highly qualified. Exams are a bit on the difficult side.

SNU insights

I chose ECE as I like the electric concepts taught in High school. All the professors at SNU are Ph.D. holders and mostly are from IITs. As far as a teaching method is concerned every faculty member has their method. We have weekly quizzes then mid-semester exams then end-semester exams. Depend on the faculty and how much difficult the paper they want to set.

Honest Words from a undergrad CS student at SNU

Not Bad is what I would say. The faculty is quite helpful with homework and take-home assignments. The exams are moderate as well although the grading in our college is quite hard. A 7.5 in SNU would easily be a 9 in VIT or SRM

I chose CSE as it was a course of interest as I had taken cs in classes 11 and 12th. Almost all the faculty here are Ph.D. holders and are experienced professors. The students in my batch are 160, which is fairly low. Hence, the faculty-student ratio is quite good. You can approach any of the professors, and they will be ready to help you in any way possible.

Guide for Shiv Nadar University - Noida

I chose B.Tech CSE because of the less intake. The whole CSE class just has 120 members. And the course curriculum is different from the state and other colleges. The faculty is well qualified and has degrees from top colleges in India. The course is challenging.
