Sathyabama University, formally known as Sathyabama Engineering College, is a deemed university run by a trust known as “JEPPIAAR EDUCATIONAL TRUST”. Sathyabama University is spread over a sprawling campus of 350 acres which houses 20 departments offering various undergraduate (UG), postgraduate (PG) and research courses, and more than 15 research centers.

The University offers admission to the following research programmes:

  • Ph.D. in all disciplines of Engineering / Technology , Management and Science
  • M.Phil. – Biotechnology
  • M.Phil. - Nanoscience and Nanotechnology
  • M. Tech. (By research )

Only candidates who are permanent residents of India with the relevant qualifying degree can register for the above mentioned courses. Seats are reserved for people belonging to different categories such as SC (15%) /ST (8%) /OBC (27%) etc. Check Sathyabama University Admission 

Candidates can register for admission by filling-in the offline/ online application form and submitting the required processing fee, on or before March 31(tentative). Admission to the above research programmes is done on the basis of performance of the candidate in the qualifying degree examination and marks secured in the entrance test, followed by an interview.

For Ph.D. Programme

The university offers Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in all the concerned disciplines of different streams such as Engineering / Technology, Management, and Science.

Eligibility: Candidate must possess any of the following qualifications - M.E./M.Tech/M.Arch /M.Sc/M.B.A/M.Phil/M.S (By Research)

For M.Phil. / M.Tech. (by research) Programme

The university offers Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.) programme in the following disciplines:

  • Biotechnology
  • Nanoscience and Nanotechnology

Eligibility: Candidate must possess the relevant qualifying master’s degree

Sathyabama University PhD Admission Process

Selection of the candidates will be done based on their qualifying degree merit as well as marks scored in the entrance exam and interview, conducted by the university.

Notes

Scholarship:

  • The university provides scholarship to the students scoring top 25 positions in the merit list. A full tuition fee waiver is provided for the selected students.
  • The university also provides ‘Remibai Jeppiaar Scholarship’ to the students scoring top 3 positions in their semester examinations.

Hostel:

The university provides full-fledged hostel facilities to the students (both boys and girls). Hostel fee of Rs. 60,000 / annum is applicable for the candidates availing the hostel facilities.

How to Apply?

  • Candidates can purchase the application form on payment of INR 500 from the University Admission office and send the duly filled-in applications to ‘The coordinator, Sathyabama University’ on or before March 31 (tentative)
  • Application forms can also be obtained through post by sending a request letter along with the processing fee through demand draft (DD), drawn in favor of Sathyabama College and payable at Chennai. The request letter should reach the following address:
