I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University (PTU) offers full-time MBA degrees of 2-year duration spread over 4 semesters

  • The MBA program is specialized in 5 disciplines that include Marketing, Finance, Human Resource Management, Management Information Systems, & Operations Management
  • Graduation with 50% marks from a recognized university is the minimum requirement to get eligible for PTU MBA admission.

Candidates must have completed a bachelor’s degree of minimum three-year duration with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA in any discipline from a recognized University

PTU MBA Admission Guidelines

Admission to the MBA program is granted on the basis of scores obtained by the students in CMAT followed by centralized counselling. The students are allotted seats based on their rank, choice, and seat availability.

PTU MBA Course Details

The MBA program is offered in six specializations: marketing, finance, human resource management, management information system, operations management, operations management, business analytics.

  • This is a 2-year long program and is divided into 4 semesters. The odd semester ranges from June to December and the even semester is from January to April.
  • Students need to gain 116 credits to obtain their MBA degree.
  • Students must complete 22 core subjects and 5 elective subjects to complete this course.
  • The student is given a degree based on internal and external examinations. The internal, as well as external examinations each, weigh 50% of the marks.

Ques. What is the examination pattern of the CMAT examination for PTU MBA admission?

Ans. CMAT is divided into four parts, and each part consists of 25 questions. The sections of the exam are Quantitative techniques and data interpretation, general awareness, logical reasoning, and language comprehension. The exam is three hours long, for each correct answer you are awarded 4 marks, and each wrong answer leads to the deduction of 1 mark.

Ques. What is the fee structure of MBA at PTU?

Ans. The first-year fees for MBA are INR 80,750. For the second year, the fees are INR 76550. The fees are quite reasonable compared to other colleges.

Ques. What is the requirement for an NRI or a foreign student to apply for admission at PTU?

Ans. Candidates will be admitted on merit determined based on marks obtained in the qualifying examinations. First preferences shall be given to those candidates who are having ancestral Punjab Resident background. The Second preference shall be given to those candidates who are having ancestral background relating to the other States of India.
