NIT Meghalaya BTech 2024: Cutoff, Fees, Placement, Admission

NIT Meghalaya BTech admissions 2024 registrations are under process. The institute offers BTech as its flagship program at the UG level. NIT Meghalaya’s flagship course admission i.e., BTech is done on the basis of JEE Mains score followed by the JoSAA counselling. Aspirants who are interested in this program can now apply online on jeemain.nta.nic. since the application process is open. 

Furthermore, NIT Meghalaya BTech 2024 admissions will be based on JEE Mains 2024. JEE Mains is expected to take place in two phases, i.e., in the month of January and April. JEE Mains 2024 first attempt exam date is scheduled on the last week of January 2024 (tentative).

NIT Meghalaya BTech Eligibility Criteria

• Candidates must have completed their 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and English as the required subjects in order to be admitted to NIT Meghalaya's B.Tech program.
• A minimum overall CGPA of 6.5 or 60 percent is required for candidates.

NIT Meghalaya BTech Admission Criteria

A four-year, full-time BTech degree is available at NIT Meghalaya in five different engineering specialties. If a student earned an overall average of at least 60% in Class 12, they are eligible to enroll in the NIT Meghalaya BTech program. Qualified candidates must pass the JEE Main exam and show up for the JoSAA counselling in order to be admitted to NIT Meghalaya. The table below provides information on NIT Meghalaya admissions:

Entrance Exam Details

Candidates seeking BTech admission to NIT Meghalaya will use their JEE Main 2022 scores. There will be 75 questions on the test in total. Additionally, each subject will include three sections, such as mathematics, physics, and chemistry.

The questions in the sections on physics, chemistry, and math are equally weighted. Four points will be given for each correctly answered question.

One mark will be subtracted from an MCQ for each incorrect response. Questions with numerical value answers will receive 4 marks for each correct response and a negative mark of -1 for an incorrect answer or an unattempted question.

NIT Meghalaya BTech Application Process

• Fill up the online application form on the NIT Meghalaya website, and upload all necessary documents.
• Officials from the Institute will examine the documentation. The office will email the students and inform them if there is a problem with their certificates.
• Following the admissions process, you will be given a roll number. The faculty adviser will also provide you with details on how to register for online classes and get your Roll No. You will receive your Roll No. through email.
• Each student will be assigned a faculty advisor, who will assist in the enrollment process.
• Each student will be given an Institute email ID via their registered mail address.
• Online classes will be conducted in the Microsoft Teams App until things are back to normal.
• Each student will get a user ID and password through the mail.
• To attend all classes, students must instantly sign in to the Microsoft Teams App using their roll number.

NIT Meghalaya BTech Syllabus

The course syllabus for B.Tech disciplines offered at NIT Meghalaya is as follows:

• The B.Tech program has a four-year curriculum. In some cases, though, a student might decide on a slow-paced program if they can't handle the workload.
• The curriculum for the B.Tech programs will be recommended by the Undergraduate Program and Evaluation Committee (UGPEC).
• Almost all students from all disciplines will follow the same curricula throughout the first two semesters.
• If there are many For UR grades in a subject taught in the autumn or spring semester, a department may offer a summer course.
• Regular attendance, participation in the continuing evaluation process, and classroom discussions are important components of academic programs.
• Students are advised to attend every class without fail to maintain 100% attendance. Lower marks for that semester could be the result of insufficient attendance.

NIT Meghalaya placements 2023 started in August last year and concluded in May 2023. Around 76 recruiters visited the campus to offer job opportunities to the graduation students and made a total of 187 offers. NIT Meghalaya highest CTC stood at INR 32 LPA and NIT Meghalaya average CTC was at INR 10.42 LPA.
