Calicut University BBA Program Structure

Course Curriculum: Each course semester is comprised of 90 teaching days and comprises Lectures, Tutorials, Practicals, Seminars and Projects, industrial training, and educational tours. The curriculum allows students to choose between elective and specialization courses. Students can select specialization courses from the prescribed list of 12 core courses in semester VI. Candidates are required to do a project for a business organization and submit a project report in the sixth semester spanning 3 weeks. 

Courses of Study: A total of 30 courses are provided under the BBA program. These are divided into 4 categories, i.e,

  1. Common courses
  2. Core courses
  3. Complementary courses 
  4. Open courses

Attendance: 75% attendance in each semester is compulsory for a student to be eligible for appearing in end semester examinations otherwise he/ she will not be permitted to appear for any examination in that year.

Evaluation: Students are evaluated on the basis of a continuous process of evaluation consisting of unit and semester tests, practical examinations and tutorials. Candidates also need to appear for a comprehensive viva voice and score at least a D grade in both for securing passing marks. For passing the BBA degree program the student shall be required to achieve a minimum of 120 credits of which 38 credits should be from common courses, 62 credits from core courses, 16 credits from complementary courses, and 4 credits from open courses.
