What should be my preference between IIM Shillong & IIM Ranchi?
To compare two business schools objectively, it is important to consider more than just the numbers in placement reports. It is possible that the average CTC may be significantly influenced by international offers or a small percentage of the batch securing high-paying jobs. One of my sisters is currently studying in IIM Ranchi, and she personally recommends joining IIM Ranchi. However, she is quite biased because she personally chose IIM Ranchi instead of IIM Shillong.

- Both institutes are the leading in the field of management making it challenging to differentiate them considering the academic curriculum.
- However, in the case of IIM Ranchi, the students here are mostly exposed to the best faculties, from the other reputed institutes like IIM C, IIM B, IIM I, IIML, NITIE and FMS.
- Besides, IIM Ranchi collaborates with highly experienced people in this field.
Placements

- The hostel of IIM Ranchi is situated in the National Sports Housing Complex.
- They are provided with single bedroom lodgings with attached bathrooms and balconies with friendly surroundings.
- Students are mainly allotted to 3-4 rooms, which gives an experience of both living in a hostel as well as apartments.
- Facilities like sports at the national stadium, namely Khelgaon Sports Complex, 2 minutes from the hostels are provided.
Separate HR Program
- In this fact, IIM Ranchi is miles ahead of that of IIM Shillong or other IIMs in India.
- IIM Ranchi is the only IIM, which has a separate HR Department.
- The HRM Program has 4 batches of students presently, functioning in this same industry.
- This separate HR department assists a hand over the prior graduates in the higher HR position.
