What kind of difficulty can one expect for the BITS HD? Are there numerical questions involved? Should the candidates give importance to theory, or problems?
BITS HD isn’t too difficult. If you have prepared well for GATE, you can easily score well in BITS HD. The exam has numerical questions. But these are not too difficult in terms of calculation and are mostly theory-based.
BITS HD is conducted online, i.e. in CBT format. The test has two parts, i.e. Test 1 (30 questions, 45 mins) and Test 2 (70 questions, 105 mins). Students applying for ME Software Systems programs also need to take a special test for software systems.
Test 1 includes Core Mathematics, English, and Principal of Management questions. Compared to GATE, this section is a bit difficult. Test 2 includes core subject questions and the questions asked are pretty straightforward.

Overall BITS HD exam analysis shows that it is not a very difficult exam especially if you have prepared well for GATE. GATE preparation can suffice your preparation for BITS HD. Overall paper’s difficulty is moderate.
Paper 1 is comparatively more difficult than paper 2 as it includes the core subject. It is advisable to go through the previous 20 years question paper of GATE and BITS HD to get a better idea about the pattern of questions asked and important areas that need to be focused more.
Most of the questions are direct and not lengthy, still, students find it difficult to finish their paper in time. It is advisable to do more practice and enhance your calculation speed. Lastly, prepare your GATE it will help you to get better performance in BITS HD.
