There are many factors that set apart IIT BHU from other IITs.

  • Being an old institute it has a huge alumni base.
  • Everyyear many students from the institute get selected in GSoC. In 2021, a total of 23 students were selected for Google Summer of Code.
  • As an IIT BHU student, you will have access to the IIT library as well as the general BHU library.
  • The vast college campus is beautiful and full of greenery.
  • The campus has happening hangout places like Assi Ghat, Limbdi corner.

IIT BHU being part of one of the oldest universities in India has some things which you can never find in other IITs. It has an open campus that anyone can come and visit. There is no restriction imposed, unlike other IITs where outsiders are not allowed. In other IITs, you have to issue passes to go inside the campus if you are not a part of IIT. There is a big temple on the campus, the Vishwanath Temple. It offers a very peaceful environment and one can feel the peace of mind when he or she spends some time there. Even tourists come to visit the Vishwanath Temple. The Limbdi Corner is another attraction of IIT BHU. The Special Chai, Chola Samosa, and Chaubeji's Shakes brings students to Limbdi Corner. Students not only from IIT but also from other institutes of the BHU campus come here to hang out. The Ganga Ghats are also one of the things which you will never find in other IITs. One will never forget the experience of finding the way to the Ghats. The labyrinths of Banaras makes it memorable. The sunsets at the Ghats are quite unforgettable. You can also see a lot of bikes and public transport vehicles on campus. Many students here also own motor vehicles which is generally not allowed in other IITs.
