Which one should I choose between DMS IIT Delhi and MDI Gurgaon PGP-HRM?

RS
Rishi Sharma Posted On : January 5th, 2023
MBA from Department of Management Studies, IIT Delhi (Graduated 2018)

This entirely depends on your preferences. If you want to pursue a career in human resources after earning your MBA, enroll in the MDI PGP-HRM program.

DMS at IIT Delhi is a general management degree, and while you can choose any electives you want, there are few jobs in HR. If your primary criterion is ROI and you haven't yet decided which specialization to pursue, you should strongly consider accepting the offer from DMS, IIT Delhi. You'll have plenty of time to decide on a specialization anyway.

In terms of the profiles offered during final placements, there isn't much difference between MDI and DMS, IIT Delhi; however, the overall popularity of MDI is slightly higher than DMS, IIT Delhi; this is also due to the fact that DMS doesn't advertise itself much, and as a private b-school, MDI has that advantage to market itself.

Apart from XLRI, TISS, SCMHRD, SIBM, etc., which IIMS can one prefer for good HR placements?

AD
Anumita Dasgupta Posted On : May 25th, 2022
PGDM from Indian Institute of Management Kashipur (2018)

IIM Ranchi has a good HRM program among the IIM. IIM Kozhikode also has a great HR faculty. But most IIMs don’t have well-designed HRM courses. Also, very few recruiting companies offer HR job roles at the placement drive of IIMs. Usually, most companies prefer students from XLRI, TISS, SIBM, SCMHRD, etc. for HR job roles.

What is usually the cutoff for PGDHRM at IIM Ranchi ?

TD
Tina Dutt Posted On : January 25th, 2023
IIM Ranchi

IIM Ranchi, which was ranked 15th in the NIRF Rankings 2022 among top MBA colleges in India, is a high Return on Investment business school. In placement 2022, IIM Ranchi recorded a 10% hike in the average salary for the MBA 2020-2022 batch, which has increased to Rs. 16.17 LPA. Despite a fee increase for the 2022-2024 batch, the 2-year program fees at IIM Ranchi remain moderate at Rs. 17.20 lakhs, compared to fees of 20 to 25 lakhs at other IIMs and top business schools.

The table indicates the minimum performance required from candidates to be considered for the PI & WAT. However, it is important to note that achieving the cut-off percentile in CAT is only the first step in being shortlisted by IIM Ranchi.

Category IIM Ranchi cut off for Section-1 VARC IIM Ranchi cut off for Section-2 DILR IIM Ranchi cut off for Section-3 Quant IIM Ranchi cut-off - Overall CAT 2022 Percentile
General 70 70 70 92
EWS 40 40 40 70
NC-OBC 45 45 45 74
SC 35 35 35 54
ST 25 25 32.5 40
DAP 25 25 32.5 40

The actual IIM Ranchi cut-off percentiles for the 2023-2025 batch may be higher, and the number of candidates to be invited for the PI & WAT in each category may vary, leading to potential changes in the cut-off percentiles.
