What IET Lucknow is good for is that you get a lot of holidays here and one can easily prepare for various competitive exams as all coaching centers are near so in a way it opens career options because of its location. Or you can try internships.

Should I take chemical at BITS Pilani or take a drop?
One of my friends studied Chemical Engineering at BITS Pilani. According to him, it is a really tough stream. It is suggested not to drop a year instead ensure that you work very hard.
- Spend over 12 hours self study every single day for a year.
- You should be able to get under 1000 rank in JEE next year which might be worth taking a year drop.
- But if you have secured a much higher BITSAT score, and if you think you won't be able to work this hard, then simply take whatever you are getting at Pilani.
- Try to graduate with a CGPA of 8.5+ and go for an MS/Ph.D. in any area of your interest.

If you opt to drop and secure admission in an IIT, you will be getting only one degree after 4 years. Whereas, you can get 2 individual degrees from BITS after 5 years. There is not much of a difference between BITS and IITs. It is certainly better than the new ones. The top 5 or 6 IITs are better than BITS but letting go of one more year might not be a wise decision.
What should I choose, VJTI compsc or BITS GOA chemical?
You should choose BITS Goa Chemical. You will get better placement and exposure. BITS Goa placements 2021 had an average CTC of INR 9.05 LPA. While the highest CTC stood around INR 16 LPA.
You can also opt for the dual degree program at BITS, this will give you exposure to various branches of Engineering, during the first year. If you score a good GPA in your first year, you will be able to take the engineering branch of your interest.

How is NIT Raipur for chemical engineering?
Chemical Engineering at NIT Raipur will definitely be a good choice. As far as facilities and other parameters are concerned, here’s what you should know.

- The department has well-equipped laboratories and classrooms.
- As far as faculty is concerned, all professors and teachers are well-experienced individuals. You will also have good industrial guidance as all of them have that kind of knowledge. However, the students do not get placements in core companies on their completion of UG course. Acquiring a job after higher studies would be less of a hassle. UG here would be a great choice.
Which is better, chemical at IIT Kharagpur or CS at IIT Mandi?
Many students go through this dilemma after clearing their JEE Advance whether to choose Computer Science in a new IIT or to choose any lower branch in the old IITs. Following information can help you in taking the decision better:
- In case if Computer Science is your passion and you feel joy by solving logical problems patiently, then without any second thought, you should go for CS at IIT Mandi. You can easily get a good placement there or even pursue your research work there.
- If you are not well acquainted with coding then it is highly advisable to get exposed to it and then decide whether you genuinely enjoy it or not.
- IIT Kharagpur is a good choice if you go for Chemical Engineering as it is one of the most reputed institutes of India. CE is in great demand and will also be in the coming years. The course of CE at IIT Kharagpur is vivid, meeting the industry standards. The curriculum of CE is easier as compared to other branches like Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- You will have enough time and freedom to enjoy the college life and sharpen your other skills side by side which will eventually help you in getting jobs in the companies. Most companies call CE students for interviews and internships.
- IIT Kharagpur has a better ranking than IIT Mandi, because of which, if you plan to pursue MBA abroad after your B.Tech, you will definitely be getting an edge.
- The best part is that IIT Kharagpur allows you to change your branch at the end of one year. You can go for this option if you have scored a good CGPA in your first year but your change in choice should not be the sole purpose to join the college or the branch.
In short, I have discussed both the colleges (here IIT Kharagpur wins) and both the branches (here Computer Science wins). So, it solely depends upon the interests and priorities of the student whether to choose Chemical Engineering at IIT Kharagpur or CS at IIT Mandi. If you do not enjoy working with codes, then IIT Kharagpur will be the best option for you.
I am getting chemical in IET Lucknow, should I take it?
You must have to go for the fifth round of counseling to change your branch. But if you are hard-working then you can easily change the branch by maintaining an S.G.P.A of 8.5 approximately.
If you are unable to do so, you will regert it during the placements as even the most well-known NITs do not provide decent packages for students pursuing Chemical Engineering. Another option you have is only the GATE exam that is one of the most preferred gateways by students for getting admission.
