  1. Update yourself on the latest GK

  2. Solve all previous year's questions 

  3. Lucent’s GK is the best to prepare for this exam

  4. Go through the pattern of the paper and know your weaknesses and strengths.

  5. Get the BHU UET Social science guide (Arihant publication) and study it thoroughly.

Keeping these tips in mind, score above 170 and you will get a decent rank.

What are some helpful tips for students starting their first year at BHU?

As a student of BHU my friend shared some of the most useful tips for first-year students:

  • Make the best use of Central Library for reading in silence.

  • Have cold coffee/South Indian foods at VT.

  • Build a trusting relationship with your teachers. This will go a long way. The teachers here appreciate every little gesture so getting in their good books won’t hurt.

  • You can have Chai/ cold drinks at Lanka Gate 24x7.

  • Utilize campus facilities to the maximum extent

  • Follow practice sessions and be timely with your records. It will provide you with extra marks.

Varanasi is the city of Ghats so don’t forget to indulge in their beauty in your leisure time.

Yes, BHU is a good option for an MBA. It maintains a good placement record every year. IMS BHU placement highlights for recent years show a highest CTC of INR 18 LPA. The average package for MBA stays around INR 8.4 LPA. Many MNCs like L&T, SBI, IBM visit the campus placement. 

One other reason for joining BHU MBA is the highly skilled faculties. The faculties of the institute are highly revered in the academic circle. Most of the faculty members have over 10 years of experience.

What is the syllabus of the BHU B.Sc. agriculture?

The syllabus of B.Sc. Agriculture at Banaras Hindu University (BHU) comprises of the following:

  • 25 Ques from Mental Ability + 25 Ques from Chemistry (compulsory for all the streams).
  • 50 Ques including Zoology and Botany (for biology students).
  • 25 Ques from Physics and  25 Ques from Maths (for Mathematics students).
  • 50 Ques from Agriculture (for agriculture students).

Preparation Tips:

  • Mental Ability section is mainly based on previous years papers. Most of the questions are repeated.
  • For Chemistry, it includes areas of Organic, Inorganic and Physical.
    • For Organic, you must have knowledge of the mechanism of basic reactions of addition, substitution, elimination with popular named reactions like Cannizaro, Williamson, Wurtz, OMDM, HBO etc.
    • Inorganic has basic trends of periodic table, Solubility, thermal decomposition. Chemical bonding and coordination.
    • For Physical, revise all the basic questions of equilibrium, electrochemistry, Solubility, Surface Chemistry, Chemical kinetics, Thermodynamics and Mole Concept.
  • For Biology, read class 11th and 12th NCERT Books. Study plant diversity, animal Diversity, Human and Plant Physiology.

The exam is around 2 hours so the paper is not difficult or lengthy. Negative marking is there so make sure the answers are accurate. Your basic knowledge acquired by revising and practicing mental ability questions will be determined.

  • ICAR-JRF - If you want to pursue further education, you can take the JRF exam in the subject of your choice. IARI is a dream institution, and only the best students are admitted. Every year, many BHU students attend IARI for M.Sc Ag in various fields and other agricultural universities.
