West Bengal Government offers Scholarships to 45 Lakh Minority Students in 2020


The government of West Bengal has granted minority students around 45 lakhs scholarship this year amid the pandemic situation. Only 6 categories of minority students have been offered scholarships whose family income is less than 2 Lakh per annum.

Minority students who secured a minimum of 60% in their last examinations were able to apply for the scholarship programs. 

P B Salim, Chairman of West Bengal Minorities Development and Finance Corporation has announced that the state government is planning to give out scholarships to 50 lakh students this year.

The scholarship application process began on August 1, 2020 where students had to apply online for all the scholarships with submission of required documents.

The state has given out these scholarships to complete the education of students from school to PhD level. It is now easy for ambitious students to pursue their dreams and achieve their goals with the help of the government.

The Scholarship Program offers the amount ranging from INR 50,000 - INR 1,60,000 directly to the nominee’s bank account after the selection process within a month. This amount will then be used for the college fees as per the respective college fee structure.

Once, the candidate has availed scholarship in minority category will not be able to avail another scholarship in the same academic year even if he is qualified to do so.

The Supreme Court has also taken the initiative to grant NEET scores for all the educational institutions in the country.
