The government of West Bengal has finally accepted the suggestion from the expert panel to reduce the course curriculum for the secondary and higher secondary classes due to the Covid-19 situation.
On November 25, 2020 the education minister Partha Chatterjee declared that syllabus from the Madhyamik (Class X) and Uccha Madhyamik (Class XII) will be changed for the academic year 2020-21.
The committee informed that 30-35% of the pressure will be relieved by these changes and both students and the committee will be benefited from this.
Further the education minister informed that the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education and West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education will declare,at an appropriate time, dates for holding next year’s secondary and higher secondary exams.
West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) declared the PPS & PPR result of Madhyamik Pariksha (Secondary Examination), 2020, on October 21, 2020.

The state is yet to decide on resuming the state or private school operations as normal. The department of school education will be notified beforehand and will be opened after a set of SOPs is issued by the state government.
The Education Minister has already been notified by the vice-chancellors of a number of universities that they are working on how to conduct the final semester examinations after consulting faculty members.
