As per recent updates, the final examinations of the West Bengal government’s secondary and higher secondary boards have been postponed till June 2021, state education minister Partha Chatterjee declared on Wednesday.
The WBBSE and WBCHSE examinations are usually conducted in March every year. However, the state is likely to hold the assembly polls in the month of March or April next year.
Earlier, the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education had decided to promote students of classes 6 to 9 to the next grade without conducting examinations in the wake of the COVID-19 situation.

Bengal schools are shut since the third week of March and classes are being held online due to the ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic.
The concerned authorities for both secondary and higher education have already announced a reduction of the syllabus by more than 30 per cent to reduce the burden on the students.

Furthermore, Chatterjee stated on Wednesday, “The West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education and the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education have both informed us that they want to hold the final examinations in June next year. We have asked them to decide the schedules of the examinations and announce accordingly.”
The varsity will release the WB 10th date sheet as well as WB 12th date sheet later.
Apart from this, the Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, during his live interaction on Twitter on December 22, 2020, declared that the CBSE Board examinations would not be held until February. The syllabus has already been reduced for the same.
