VIT Vellore Placements 2020: Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) successfully concluded the first phase of placement drive for May 2021 graduating batch. The institute held a virtual placement for its students amid the pandemic which will continue till May 2021.
As per a statement issued by VIT Vellore, 382 organisations participated in the drive that extended multiple offers in IT, E-Commerce, Engineering and BFSI sectors. About 4,503 students registered for the first-ever virtual placement session.

Students of all the 4 campuses, VIT Amaravati, Vellore, Chennai and Bhopal participated in the placement drive. In early May 2020, VIT began a summer internship drive for PG students, wherein about 144 companies extended offers through remote hiring process. The drive witnessed more than 1,028 postgraduate students receiving internship offers.

VIT Placement 2020: IT Majors Roll Out Maximum Offers
IT organizations like TCS, Infosys and Cognizant have extended about 3,517 offers. Among them, Cognizant alone rolled out 1428 offers, while TCS extended 1321 offers and Infosys hired 778 students.
Other IT companies like Capgemini, Virtusa, MindTree and Hexaware also hired substantial numbers of candidates. Also, TCS extended an annual package of INR LPA to 224 students, recruited for its ‘Digital Practice’ project. Wipro recruited 419 students with INR 6.5 LPA.
Meanwhile, placement drives began on July 14, for UG students graduating in 2021. As of now, phase-1 has recorded some of the big names, Microsoft, Amazon, Paypal, Morgan Stanley, Shell, D.E.Shaw India offering an annual package of INR 10 LPA, the statement reads.
Additionally, Microsoft offered plum jobs to 7 students with an annual package as high as 44 LPA. The institute expects placement offers may exceed to 8000, this year.
Speaking on this, V Samuel Rajkumar, director (placement and training), VIT, “We expect more companies from January as well. Core engineering companies also started to enquire about placements.”
VIT AP Sets Records at Placement Season 2020
At the virtual placement drive, VIT AP witnessed successful results for its first batch, graduating in May 2021. Students received 419 job offers from 73 companies. Majority of them received Super Dream offers of INR 10 LPA.

A student with B.Tech (Networking and Security) was offered the highest offer of INR 20 LPA from CommVault. As per Vice-Chancellor, SV Kota Reddy, students received major annual packages from Amazon, Volvo, Barclays, Bank of America, JP Morgan, Citi Bank, Hewlett Packard, Philips, Honeywell among others.
