Visva Bharati Pre Degree Exam 2021 to Start from July 5 in Online Mode

Visva Bharati University released an official notification regarding Pre-Degree Exam 2021 after the announcement of Madhyamik (WB 10th Board Exam 2021) and Uchchya Madhyamik (WBCHSE Board Exams 2021) cancellation due to pandemic.

West Bengal School Education Department is now expected to release the result evaluation criteria for both class 10th, and WBCHSE Class 12th Exams 2021 for all schools in the states.

Earlier, on June 08, 2021, Visva-Bharati University Vice-Chancellor conducted a meeting with directors, principals, proctors, dean of students' welfare, and other officials to discuss the exam evaluation process.

During the meeting, the vice-chancellor, and other officials gave a green signal for pre-degree exam commencement for Patha Bhavana and Siksha Satra schools in the states from July 2021.

As per the official notice released, exams will be conducted through online means to prevent the rise of coronavirus cases in the states. The notice further reads that the viva voce for all students will also be held through online means, and will be held after the school certificate examinations.

Referring to the notice released, the central varsity stated that students who registered to appear for the examination will be notified about the exam schedule, and other modalities soon.

Visva Bharati University offers students with pre-degree courses in both science, and humanities streams. The degree course is conducted through two schools under the university; Patha Bhavana for external residential students, and Siksha Satra for external day scholars.

The pre-degree examination is equivalent to the class 10th and class 12th board examinations for Visva-Bharati registered students. With the school certifications, students will be able to get admission into the next grade.

Referring to the exam commencement, university officials stated that unlike Madhyamik and Uchchya Madhyamik exams, which are conducted for lakhs of registered students, the two Visva-Bharati schools do not have more than 200 students.

Since the number of registered students in Visva-Bharati schools is not more than 200, conducting online tests for them won’t be much of a problem, the university official further added.
