Uttarakhand Government has issued an order stating to open schools under Atal Utkrisht Vidyalaya in the state. Two schools will be opened in each block and nearly 190 schools will be opened.
The official notice stated that the 190 Atal Utkrisht Vidyalayas will be opened from the next academic session and will be affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).
Tivendra Singh Rawat, the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand announced about the scheme and stated that new dimensions to education, academic work and educational facilities will be given through these schools in Uttarakhand.
The scheme will help to prevent the students from migration amidst the situation caused due to the COVID 19 pandemic and new employment opportunities will also be generated through this scheme.

The Uttarakhand State government has also canceled the winter vacation for the students of classes 10 and 12 to compensate the time which was lost because of the closure of the schools due to the lockdown imposed to control the spread of COVID 19.
The decision of cancellation of winter vacation was also taken to make sure to complete the syllabus for the students of classes 10 and 12 before the upcoming Uttarakhand Board Examination 2021.
The Education Department of Uttarakhand has also ordered that school teachers handling classes for 10th and 12th students should be present in schools and other class teachers need not attend the school.
