December 25, 2020: The Government of Uttarakhand has declared that there will be no winter break for Class 10 and 12 students this academic year in order to complete the syllabus for the board examinations.
On December 24, 2020 the Education department issued a notice stating that all government schools and government aided institutes will not be closing their operations for Class 10 and 12 students. The teachers assigned with Class 10 and 12 will be present in the school as well.

The district can also call off the classes subject to weather conditions. The schools will be following the Covid Guidelines issued by the state and central government to control the spread of Coronavirus.
After a long wait of 7 months, the state reopened the schools on November 2 for the higher classes.
Considering the upcoming events of Chrstmas and New Year, the state has also restricted the social gathering at public places like bars, hotels and other places.
The COVID-19 tally in the state has risen to 87,940 on Wednesday with 564 more people testing positive for the disease while eight more patients succumbed to the virus, taking the toll to 1,447. There are 5,507 active cases in the state.
