Upper primary and colleges soon to be reopened from 4th Jan in Tripura


Tripura government has decided to reopen upper primary and colleges along with hostels after reduction of covid-19 cases. Number of the COVID -19 cases have reduced over the past three weeks.

The education minister Ratan Lal Nath has said government-aided and private colleges can resume courses for classes V to VIII from 4th January, along with hostels attached with schools, colleges and professional institutions.

He said "The government desires full attendance of teachers, lecturers and non-teaching employees. Nevertheless, attendance of scholars can be allowed only after guardians’ consent".

Tripura govt. has already spent a significant amount of money for providing water outlets, sanitizers, cleaning materials in the schools. Ratan Lal Nath mentioned that additional funds have been given to all school headmasters for regular cleaning of school rooms, bathrooms and campus sanitization for a clean and disease free environment. 

School authorities have been ordered to clean and sanitize all the rooms and buildings properly inside by January 2nd. The school authority has to submit a report by the same date within closing hours. 

The private schools affiliated with CBSE and ICSE may or may not resume classes. They will continue with online classes. The district magistrate and collectors of all districts have to maintain meetings with sub-divisional magistrates, district schooling officers, and college authorities for ensuring safety. 

The division would separate committees to take care of hostel-related points resembling procurement of rice, greens, and cooking supplies. Also there will be visiting of local medical staff from health centers regularly, the minister mentioned. Tripura has registered 33,244 positive cases.
