UP Government Colleges Students to Receive Tablets with Preloaded Content; Read Full Report Here


The Government of Uttar Pradesh has decided to provide tablets to students from UP Government colleges in 7 districts with preloaded content in them.

The 7 districts include Shravasti, Chandauli, Sonbhadra, Siddhartha Nagar, Balrampur, Fatehpur and Chitrakoot. Students need to issue these tablets from the college library just like they issue a book.

Apparently 160 E-Tablets have been sanctioned to be distributed in 18 UP government colleges in the above mentioned districts. The tablets will be the responsibility of the Library department.

Deputy Chief Minister Dinesh Sharma said that the initiative to Digital India and New Education Policy (NEP) is possible if we make use of the technology for education as well. This conversion for imparting knowledge will not only improve the quality of education but also help in academic reforms.

Additional chief secretary (higher education) Monika S. Garg added that nation-wide lockdown for Covid-19 has affected the financially backward students who did not have smartphones to continue their e-learning.

The tablets can be used as per the students’ convenience even without internet connection. The tablets have been customised with study material according to the syllabus.

Each college will be having 8-9 tablets during the academic session 2020-21 with 10-inch screen and high resolution quality which will not hamper the eyesight of students.
