UP Board Exams 2021: On Sunday, June 13, 2021, Chief Minister Yogi Adiyanath announced that due to the covid-19 pandemic, no merit list will be declared for UP Board Class 10 and 12 Examination 2021.
The announcement was made soon after the announcement of UP Board Class 10 and 12 Exam 2021 cancellation. As per the official announcement, students will be offered with an opportunity to appear for examination once the covid-19 cases number falls in the country.
Students who are not satisfied with the marks allotted to them based on the marking scheme will be offered a fair chance to increase their allotted marks by appearing for the written examination.
UP Board Exams 2021: Marking Scheme
At present, UP Board Class 12th, and Class 10th 2021 students will be awarded grades/scores based on the marks secured by them in previous classes, internal assessment scores, and examinations conducted throughout the academic year.
Referring to the announcement, an official from the Secondary Education Department said, "We are giving an option to students that if they are not satisfied with the marks for the canceled exam, the board will allow them to appear in the said exam next year when high school and intermediate examinations will be held”.

Earlier, the Uttar Pradesh state government has announced the cancellation of both UP Board Class 10 and 12 Exam 2021 due to the surge of covid-19 cases in the country.
As for the result marking criteria, the state government will conduct meetings with various stakeholders, and Chief Secretary, Secondary Education, Aradhana Shukla to finalize the marking scheme for students.
UP Board students, parents, educationists, the general public, and teachers have sent about 4000 suggestions to the board in regard to the determination of marks. The board will make a final decision on the same after going through the suggestions sent by the students, and teachers.

Aradhana Shukla, Chief Secretary, Secondary Education, stated that the logical determination of marks for about 56,04,628 registered UP Board students is now in the final phase. We have held discussions for about 40 subjects of High School and 106 subjects of Intermediate, she added.
The committee will submit a detailed report on the marking scheme to the government. After evaluating the detailed report of the committee, the final decision will be made.
