UP Board Exams 2021: Class 10th exams Cancelled, 12th exams in 2nd week of July


Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Dinesh Sharma announced today that the UP Board Class 10th exams 2021 have been cancelled due to the current situation of the COVID pandemic. 

As for the UP Board 12th exams 2021, UPMSP has decided to conduct the examinations in the second week of July, if the situation is favourable. All these decisions were finalised in a meeting with the state chief minister, Yogi Adityanath. 

Moreover, the government has also decided to promote all the students from classes 6 to 9 as well as class 11 to the next classes based on the internal assessments. The same will be applicable for all students belonging to other boards in absence of the respective board's promotional policy. No exams for these classes would be conducted in the state, says the official statement. 

UP Board Class 10th Exams 2021 Cancelled :

The decision for cancellation of UP Board Class 10 Exams 2021 has been taken with regard to the present situation of the COVID pandemic in the state. There are a total of 29,94,313 students who registered for high school exams and all these students will now get promoted to Class 11 on the basis of guidelines developed by Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP).

The UP Education Minister also highlighted that how UP Board has been working for the interests of the student by conducting online classes through Sywam Prabha Channel, Doordarshan, e-Vidhya Channel, e-Gyan Ganga Youtube channel of the respective departments.

Speaking on the pending UP board 2021 examinations, state Education Minister Dinesh Sharma said that the decision was taken for the benefits of the students due to the current situation of COVID. He also added, that the policy and guidelines for promotion would be decided soon by the department and it would be announced as soon as it gets approved.

UP Board Class 12th Exams: Expected to be held in July

Speaking about the UP Board Class 12 exams, Dinesh Sharma stated, "Keeping in view the importance of Class 12 exams and their role in the future of students, UPMSP has decided to conduct class 12th exams in the second week of July." 

He also mentions that the exams will be conducted only if the COVID situation normalises and they will be held in favourable conditions with all precautions and following all preventions of coronavirus, the minister added.

Uttar Pradesh is the first state in the country to reduce the syllabus by 30% last year in the month of July due to the interruption caused due to the COVID pandemic. The board has also announced that the exam time duration has been reduced to one and a half hours(1.5 hours) from the usual three hours format.

A total of 26,10,316 students have registered for the UP Board Class 12 examinations. As per previous years, this year too, the exams will be conducted within 15 working days.
