Uttar Pradesh Board has decided to introduce new sets of books based on the syllabus of National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) for three more classes for the upcoming academic year (2021-22) across UP.
It was notified by the UP Board officials that the preparation to introduce new NCERT books for English in Class 10 and 12, and commerce in Class 12 has already begun.
A senior board official said that the new NCERT books will be available for the students on time within the 3rd week of March 2021, as the tender for publication of these books will be issued in January 2021.

By introducing new syllabus for the 3 classes from the next academic session 2021-22, UP Board will see a complete transformation from the old syllabus to the new NCERT-based syllabus for all the subjects akin to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), consisting Sanskrit and Hindi, said one of the member of UP Board.
Earlier, the NCERT-based books were introduced in English for classes 9 and 11 besides Commerce in class 11 for the academic year 2020-21 by the Pragyaraj-Headquarters, UP Board. Following the same, English course for class 9 had increased while there was a reduction in the syllabus of Class 11.

As a result of introducing new NCERT books for the commerce students of class 11, Subjects like General Hindi, Business studies, and Accountancy become compulsory while any two optional subjects out of economics, mathematics, English, and computer can be chosen.

Over the past 2 years, UP Board has introduced NCERT-based books for nearly 24 subjects. For the students of class 9 to 12, the board had introduced 31 NCERT-based books of 18 various subjects for the academic year 2018-19.
Even for the academic year 2019-20, the board introduced new books based on NCERT syllabus in high school for the social science subject and for class 12, subjects such as history, civics, geography, economics, and sociology were introduced.
