NIELIT Center 2021: Union Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology Rajeev Chandrasekhar has recently inaugurated three more NIELIT Centers in the North-East Region.
The National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT) Center was inaugurated on September 16, 2021, in Manipur’s Churachandpur district and two centers in Assam's Kokrajhar and Tezpur districts.
During the Inauguration ceremony, the Union Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology has also upgraded the two existing centers of NIELIT in Imphal (Manipur) and Aizawl (Mizoram) from Churachandpur through online mode.

Adding to the tweet, the National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT) Center stated that the ceremony can be viewed live on the official Youtube channel of the center at https://youtu.be/P-wQ2kovAcQ.
The Inauguration ceremony for NIELIT Manipur center was held physically, while the Assam and Tezpur center was launched virtually due to the surge of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
Referring to the initiative, Chandrasekhar stated that the collaboration has been done between the Center and State Government to convert NIELIT centres to job-creation centres.
“These will not just be training centres in the coming years, rather these will empower youth with skills and get them into the runway of opportunity and jobs,” he further added.
He further stated that with the new NIELIT Center, India will have the opportunity to provide more education in the field of computer skills, electronic manufacturing, and maintenance and repair. Youngsters of India will be offered education facilities in various fields, he added.
NIELIT was launched by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India as a Skill Development and Capacity Building arm. The NIELIT exam is conducted twice a year for admission to various formal and non-formal courses in the field of IECT.
