Union Education Minister, Dharmendra said that the biggest stakeholders in the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, are the students.
The inaugural event of the North-East Education Conclave 2021 was held today, where many prominent members like Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Assam education minister Ranoj Pegu and other officials were also present in the event in Guwahati, Assam.
During the inaugural event of the conclave, these members discussed the measures and initiatives that were taken by the state to implement the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
Together with Honorable CM Assam Himanta Biswa Sarma, Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu, Honorable Ministers’ of NER States, Senior authorities of department of education, Government of Assam inaugurated the North-east Education Conclave 2021 in Guwahati, Dharmendra Pradhan tweeted from his social media account.

Tweeting about the NEP 2020, he said that the students are the biggest stakeholders in the NEP 2020, which is primarily focused on developing desired learning competencies right from the pre-primary, equipping students with 21st century knowledge and skills that will prepare the youth to become a global citizen.
The National Education Policy 2020 is a unifying factor in stimulating regional languages, art, culture, Indian knowledge systems, and in celebrating India's diversity and strengths as a civilization, he said.
Pradhan said that the state will be a laboratory of mother tongue-based education in the country. The variety of languages cannot be witnessed better than in the state's north-east region, where 180 languages are currently being spoken by tribes residing in the NE region.
The NEP 2020 has amplified the potential of a language in education. Expressing his happiness, the minister said that CM Sarna has prioritized primary areas including education and health, and it has majorly improved the share of government expenditure to 6% of GDP on education.Luo
Implementing PM Modi's vision, the state has decided to chart a roadmap to create special education zones to bring about educational equity in India. Guwahati's potential can be tackled to make it an educational hub for the north-east and India, Pradhan said.
