TS Intermediate Exam 2021: Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education (TSBIE), has stated that they will be cancelling examinations of Intermediate Public Examinations (IPE) for first year (Class 11th) students. The decision has been made due to the increase in the number of COVID cases in the state during recent months.
Earlier, Telangana Board had decided to promote 1st year students and postpone the TS Intermediate Exam 2021 till the situation of the state improved, but continuous increase in the COVID cases has forced the board to change their decision.
TSBIE also declared, TS Intermediate Exam 2021 first year students will now be promoted without exams. The move has been welcomed by lawyers, students and parent bodies who had grown impatient with the indecision.
“Considering the present pandemic situation prevailing in the State, the Government hereby decides to cancel Class XII Intermediate public examination for the academic year 2020-21. Results to be declared on the basis of predetermined objective criteria. Secretary, Board of Intermediate Examination is directed to issue orders for promoting all Class XI students to Class 12,” the government of Telangana said in its latest official order.
The state had previously cancelled Class 10 or SSC examinations and announced to evaluate students on the criteria developed by the SSC board. Results have been prepared after considering internal assessments. Students unhappy with their alotted marks will be allowed to take examinations when the situation turns conducive.
TSBIE joins the list of other state boards that have cancelled TS Intermediate Exam 2021 in wake of the second wave of COVID-19. Recently, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) announced the cancellation of CBSE Class 12 Exam 2021 due to the pandemic and was followed by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE).
