Colleges in the state of Tamil Nadu will begin on-campus classes for final year UG students from December 7, 2020. Meanwhile, the state will be under complete lockdown till December 31, indicating there cannot be public gatherings till then.
Meanwhile, the government has officially announced that colleges and universities offering undergraduate courses in Arts, Science, Commerce, Technology, Agriculture and Fisheries will reopen from December 7th.

Chief Minister, Edappadi K Palaniswami said in an official statement,“Lockdown is extended till December 31.”
Subsequently, now, the hostels have been permitted to reopen again. Additionally, colleges of medical and allied sciences will also resume classes from December 7. This rule has been revised only for the final year/semester or graduating batches.
New admission batches of 2020-21 will resume offline classes from February 1, 2021. Even hostels will be permitted to reopen and take in those students from February onwards.

The state has reported of 11,052 active Coronavirus cases till date with 1,459 new cases. In view of this, the state government has also issued an official notification which states, Marina Beach of Chennai will reopen after December 14. This restrictive policy will be executed so as to avoid gatherings in public places.
