TN Board: Reduced School Syllabus to Be Submitted to CM On November 30


Tamil Nadu School Education Minister K A Sengottaiyan stated that the reduced school syllabus will be submitted to TN CM K Palaniswami on November 30, 2020.

The initiative to reduce the TN Board Syllabus is taken to clarify the confusion of schools on following the syllabus because of the COVID 19 pandemic.

Educational institutions in Tamil Nadu were closed in March because of the Nationwide lockdown implemented to control the spread of coronavirus

The government of Tamil Nadu has earlier ordered to reopen the schools for classes 9 to 12 but later dropped the order after opposition from various quarters over fears of coronavirus.

Sengottaiyan stated that the syllabus will be reduced by 40 to 50 percent and the reduced syllabus will be submitted to the CM on November 30.

The detailed announcement regarding the reduced syllabus will be provided 5 days after handing over the syllabus to the CM.

Sengottaiyan has also confirmed that the half-yearly examination would not be conducted online.

The government has also allotted an 18 member committee to look into the aspect of reducing the syllabus for the 2020-21 academic year because of the closure of schools due to the COVID 19 pandemic.
