Tamil Nadu Government has decided to reduce the overall syllabus by 50% for the students who are going to take up the TN SSLC/HSE Board Exams 2021, and the decision for the same will be declared by December 5, 2020.
The step is taken by the TN government to reduce the burden of the curriculum on the students taking up the TN Board Exams 2021, as the schools are still closed across the state due to the pandemic covid-19 circumstances.
According to the reports, the Education Minister of TN is expected to submit a report regarding the slashing of Syllabus for TN SSLC/HSE Board Exams 2020 by 40% to 50% on November 30, 2020, to the TN Chief Minister.

Since the TN public exams 2021 has been approaching, the state government had earlier set up a committee of 18 members to look into the reduction of the syllabus and curriculum.
The 18 members committee has to prepare a detailed report on reducing the syllabus for the students who are going to appear for the TN SSLC/HSE Board exams 2021.
Following this, the State Education Minister, K A Sengottaiyan is going to produce the compilation of the report to the TN Chief Minister on November 30, 2020.

It has been reported by the expert committee that the final decision by the state government regarding the slashing of the syllabus for the Class 10, 11, and 12 will be revealed on or before December 5, 2020.
Therefore, within 5 days after the submission of the detailed report on the slashing of the syllabus, the government will announce its final decision.
Apart from this, the state government dismissed the news of conducting the half-yearly exams online amidst the speculation and rumors about the same.
